Is it possible to disable expanded region match making?

Can I restrict my matchmaking search to US players only? Ive found players from other countries to have 200+pings often and the matches themselves are usually bad in terms of cooperation/fun.

Yes, the only thing that you need to do is to set your specific region inside the playlist selection (at the top right corner of the screen). If you already set your specific region, it seems that other players have decided to change a server that is far from their homes, into the one you are using yourself

There is no such option, it's up to each player.

That said, unless their ping is red I usually don't bother, but it's also a fact that NA & EU still hold the most player base, and queuing there gives the shortest matchmaking time compared to their own region.

Asked someone from Asia & OCE who queued every server region and often times they got matched in no time towards NA/EU.

I didnt even select NA, selected US EAST/WEST. I would have zero objections to waiting significantly longer if it meant no players from Mexico or the Phillipines let alone EU. 90% of the players with poor sportmanship or afking/quitting have a Latin name and a ping over 150.

Currently I cancel and search again if it takes over 10 seconds, that seems to be when it expands the search.

You just have to dox them one by one and beat them up in real life. Eventually you would have beaten up the last of them.

Its not up to you what other players join your game. The default is for players to queue for all regions in the world I think so there are some people from South America, EU, OCE, etc that end up playing in NA servers even if they have bad pings. Most players realize shortly that they should disable all other regions than maybe the two that are closest to them, so they will have good pings, but there's always some people out there that haven't realized that and you will occasionally get them on your team. Nothing can be done about that except to form a party before you play with players from your own region. You have no control over other players in open matchmaking.
