High-Quality Shaders...

This one seems bugged in my opinion; I can turn everything else on the highest and have as much as a 15-frame drop, but whenever I turn on High-Quality Shaders, it always cuts framerate in half. I first tried this using an SLI Profile I found here on the forums, and it did this. So I set the profile to its default state, and it does the exact same thing still. I've tried turning other things down/off, but this setting has a mind of its own. Also, On the Main Menu, the game seems to look better when it's left off. No other issues with the game, it's just this that confuses me. Anyone else bugged by it?
