You're playing Matchmaking.
You either win or lose, thats a fact with all competitive games.
If you're going to lose, regardless of the circumstances (be it bad players, leavers or whatever) you should be sportsman enough to swallow it and keep going, you might even have some fun scoring a goal even though you're outnumbered and still losing in the end.

If you can't do that, then you shouldn't play Matchmaking.
Alternatively, play with friends.

Did you ever see a football club walk away from the field, when they were about to lose? No? Well, you shouldn't neither, nor anyone else.

Add 3 minutes to the game so really stack goals onto the losers.
Compare spectator sports to games lol.
That will show those leavers how real people playing sports operate, which they obviously never played on a team before anyway because games don't ever have mercy rules. Everyone just sticks it out, so you can score on them all you want.

I got banned 15 minutes because my game crashed at the beginning of a match. What fantastic logic that is. I refuse to leave ranked games, even when im getting stomped. I like the ban feature, but it really failed in my situation.

again Dusk, you're just one of the few it occurred to. My team was winning 6-0 with 4 of those goals mine. I was going to be MVP, and I dc'd.. But I know that the ban feature was what kept all 6 of those players in the game for me to be able to enjoy it.

one of the few more like one of the many dc/crashs are common and part of the problem is the mixed platform play along with the ablity for players to be match with players that should be only on eu / us / oceainia. people were complaying about the servers since launch and still now they have not fixed. you cant have a ban system in a game were highly likely to be dced from a game.

You're right, Joren. They should have fixed the EU west servers before they implemented the ban system. But, as an Oceanic player, I have found nothing but positive effects.

its also the us servers and mostly the cross server players. when i get into the match and see the two on the other side at 500 i just have to sigh and wait for the d/c followed by 15min ban becuase someone tryed to cross server play.

That's the reason for server issues at launch. Extremely high demand for their product. They are not THQ with hundreds of devs sinking millions into the project. So no, they aren't going broke, they are having chandeliers crafted out of the bones of expensive chicken dinners from the most ballest of restaurants, go ahead and be salty about your leaver ban.

If anyone did stop playing because they don't like getting a time out for playing ranked and leaving the rest of the players with a lopsided match, good. Play unranked or any other game on Steam, I won't miss you.

To the rest who stay, if you are getting your ass kicked, adapt, take notes, learn from it, get better. Or you can just quit like these whiny babies.

sorry to correct you after all that writing, but yeah they actually did lose a lot of players, they said about 7 to 8 thousand, so, check your facts before you try to talk about what you dont know ;)

Nothing in my post implied that they didn't lose players. I specifically said "If anyone did stop playing... ... I won't miss you." and "To the rest who stay..."

If you think you are somehow "correcting" me with your facts, great. I was specifically rebutting your doomsday prophecy that somehow Psyonix would go broke just because a few whiny babies only find a match fun when they are winning.

I just got disconnected from 2 games on PS4 where there were some very high pings, tried to jump straight back into the action and... denied. Banned from matchmaking for 15 mins, twice in a row. I have a 75Mb fibre broadband connection, so no problems with my ping whatsoever. In the 40 mins I had to play the game, I got one match in... If they haven't sorted out the European servers yet, then they really shouldn't have implemented the ban system in this way.

Agreed with Jim. I havent even run into any problem because I'm not playing ranked yet and havent experienced the 15 minute ban but its the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread.

Today I had to leave two games in a row because I was rubber banding like crazy while the game stated I had a constant 70ish ping. I don't decide what server the game throws me into, why should I be banned for leaving a game in which I can't even function?

I'm not saying panic. It's all a teething phase right now. I'm pretty sure the developers will temper out a better experience as they learn.

You're an idiot. But even those that support the 15 minute matchmaking ban, understand that Europe West, is having massive server issues. We actually AGREE that Euro West shouldn't recieve bans. But on the flip side, try not matchmaking into competitive if you know the servers are unstable.

Another thread of whining about this dude? If you didn't leave so many matches you might not have so much time on your hands for making said threads.

Since this "punishment system" has been implemented I've not been in any ranked games with leavers and enjoyed ranked play much more. Had a much with a fella yesterday who I was crushing in the first 2 minutes and he said how he wished he could leave but didn't want the 15 minute ban, by minute 5 the tables had changed and it was tied, went into OT and he almost won. A match he never would have experienced otherwise.

I generally just walk away from the game after I am up 3, and just leave my keyboard pressing forward so I don't get kicked.
