4 vs 4 Ranked
Are there any plans for 4 vs 4 ranked?

I know that more is not always better, but in this case, I think it would be a great mode. This amount of players would require the most teamwork and coordination. This would allow for a proper formation like 1 goalie, 2 centers and 1 offense or other variations. To me this would offer the most tactical gameplay.

The game itself seems to handle Chaos mode just fine on a technical level. The fields are big enough and the network performance is fine.

Are there any valid arguments against this?

We already have issues with teamwork on 3 v 3s..

There is no reason for 4 v 4. This game does NOT need dedicated goalies.

No one is forcing people to play 4 vs 4. What if I join with 3 other friends that I can communicate with properly and coordinate with? That's not that hard and there would be no issue with teamwork there. Again if you're not going to work with a team don't join ranked. It's the exact same issue in 2 vs 2. The amount of people involved doesn't change that.

The dedicated goalie is just an example. That same person can be whatever the team decides.

I asked for valid arguments against this mode not kneejerk reactions.

I agree with OP....4v4 is the only mode I play...I would played ranked ...but alas no ranked 4v4.....

I'm arguing against it. I think 2v2 works well and 3v3 is the perfect balance for the size of the arenas. 4v4 Would be too chaotic. With the cars being as fast as they are, 1 player can cover a huge amount of ground in a very short time meaning the ball is already extremely highly contested with 3 players. 4v4 Would be like playing bumper cars or pinball.

100% for it. It's just not as fun unless its 4v4. Otherwise the game feels too small.

If there were even bigger maps, a ranked 4v4 would make more sense. otherwise it is quite a bit too chaotic with that many people

For me the only way 4 would work is if one player is a dedicated goalie but the problem is you cannot force it onto players. 4 Players on the ball would just create chaos and take away from the skill. How many times has it happened to you when you have a clear shot on goal and then team mates go for the same ball and knock the ball away. Also there would be less power ups for everyone. The devs would have to make bigger dedicated 4v4 stadiums for it to work.

I wouldn't likely play it, but why not have it? Only played one 4v4 game and felt I was playing more against my own team than the enemy team.

I see your point although I wouldn't want to dilute the player pool too much. Also I think you would be lucky to end 50% of the game with all 8 players, ppl quit or disconnect all the time, so frustrating.

Yeah, there seems to be a bug that causes 1-2 people on your team to leave if they opposing team scores in the first minute, regardless of the circumstance.

Lol, the bug seems to reside in the players brains.
