Unable to invite friends / create a party

So I am planning on playing with my friend today, but we seem unable to add eachother into a party.

I press "create party" and then I press the "+" button to add him, but nothing happens.

We are friends on Steam and both playing through Steam at the same time.

I have tried to google the issue, but I cant find any info on the problem. Anyone else had the same issue?

You might have already covered this, if so then I'm out of ideas:
Clicking the + or pressing X on the controller should open the Steam overlay where you invite your friends from there. If its not appearing then check the overlay is working in game by pressing Alt+Tab. If not right click game in library, select properties then 'Enable Steam Overlay' from the first tab.

If your still wonmdering how to make a group, what I did was I invited my players to a private session with bots, then left and they stayed in my party and we were able to play together in mathes

No, you should be able to create a party as soon as you enter the game..no rank required afaik

i cant either, and i cant right click (Mac) any1 know how i get past that??
