I noticed in the controls settings, W is assigned to "Drive Forward" and to "Pitch Forward" when you're in the air. But these are not assigned to the same button on the controller. It is not the "Drive Forward" that you want, it is the "Pitch Forward".
It works the same way as when you are trying to dodge left or right. To dodge left I have to push the left analog stick to the left and double-tap the Jump button (which I have mapped to button 6).
In order to dodge forward I have to pull back on the left analog stick and double-tap the Jump button. I am trying right now to download the Logitech Profiler software so I can invert this axis and be able to push forward on the analog stick and double-tap Jump to dodge forward. I'll update this post if I get that working.
But at least you can dodge in every direction with this controller.
Hope this helps

The only way I can get it to work is to manually create a profile for Rocket League (Go to Profile --> New... name the profile Rocket League, and browse to the executable at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rocketleague\Binaries\Win32\RocketLeague.exe). Then, in the properties dialog for the left stick Y-axis I check the "Invert Axis Polarity" checkbox.
But it doesn't implement this when I start the game for some reason. So I have to go to the Global Profiler Settings and "Apply Persistent Profile". This will make it so the Y-axis is inverted in all games, not just this one, but I'm OK with that.
