Did you even read properly? I said "if you STOP the PS+ membership" then it is no longer free. Look at the link I provided, clearly said in there.

So basically you would have to keep paying PS+ to keep this free game.

If you look at that photo - "you can download this item at no extra cost and it's yours to keep UNTIL YOUR MEMBERSHIP ENDS".

This is true but then again you don't get 70$ worth of games this month either.
PS+ = 50$ month of July alone = 70$ worth of free games .......
I don't pay for online with this month alone so yeah ill keep paying 50$ a year and keep getting awesome games every year for way less then normal cost.

It is true that if i end my sub i can't touch the games i got from the PS+ program but i don't see a reason to stop it.
For little over 4$ a month i get games for less and most of them can be found on steam for more than 4$.

Well we can download free games on steam as much as we want . Steam get new ones all the time .

..This game happens to be one of those games, and I'm sure Sony PS+ subscribers appreciate the addition of brand new and fun Indie games like Rocket League as a free game this month. It's a win/win for the developers of such a game as well, as well as the players because this game gets a much larger subscriber base initially, then after this month.. it will help the developer sell even more copies of this game later on due to all the advertising and word of mouth, youtube videos, etc.

Steam has no such motivation to buy/contract games like this for free for the PC as Steam is completely free to use and has no yearly subsciption model like PlayStation Plus is for the PS consoles.

Hopefully, that gives you the explanation you seek. ..However, somehow I feel like this will not satisfy you because your goal is not to get a legitimate answer, but you are really just seeking to "whine & cry" - Boo Hoo. If you don't like it, you can always go buy a PS4 console and pay for your Playstation Plus subsription like everyone else who is getting this game for free this month. :-)

Yep, right spot on. I am here to "whine and cry". Whaaa whaaa... It's one of the reason why I let my PS+ run out. I am tired of seeing indie games that I own on the PC being passed as free content on the PS4.

It's annual. And I can get it for £35. So for £2.91 per month, I can get not only this game free but Styx, Mousecraft and more games every month.

I can live with that.

Why would they give the game for free on PC?

Sony pays them to give the game free on PS4, and it will be good for the sales in the long term.

I like using both platforms, PC gets free multiplayer and good deals on games + steam is super-fast. PS4 gives free games for a modest fee(as long as you are a PS+ member), but I sure hope they fix their download speeds because they are horrible atm :s

Techically we are all paying for the internet, but for gaming wise consoles have that and a fee for a service just to play together. But if this game has cross platform then hell I will renew my subscription just to play.

For whatever reason the lastest system update killed my download speeds on the PS4 and I can't even share play anymore. :\
