I don't know what allows you to look around on keyboard/mouse. I don't use them.
You can map the camera to the mouse but that will work some kind of weird since the camera snaps to its default position all the time.
Flaw 1) The analog stick on a controller has a button built-in which can be accidentally pressed when moving the stick.
Flaw 2) The analog stick direction on a controller is not always exclusive which means that it is very easy to accidentally combine different vectors such as up and right.
A mouse does not have flaw #1 because it sits on a desk which stops it from moving too easily when the user is under pressure compared to a controller. Besides, keys currently assigned to the mouse are better off as floor pedals anyway.
Some may not consider flaw #2 a flaw at all, but I prefer the absolute control of buttons versus a stick. In addition, a keyboard provides me the flexibility of choose exactly how my hands are positioned while playing, providing maximum comfort.
Games may be designed with an controller interface in mind, but this game can be much better by realizing that the mouse is a more useful interface than an analog stick. I don't know about you guys, but nothing beats the comfort and accuracy of KB&M in almost every PC game I have ever played. Rocket League is claiming to be a PC / Steam Machine game, so hold it to the some of the same standards as other games *cough* Trackmania *cough*.
The problem: the current "snap" implementation is unfeasible for some KB&M users.
The solution: Implement a toggle option to provide mouse users free look. There should be a keybind assignable to turn free look on or off, as well as a keybind to choose if free look is toggled temporarily when activated.
In all my years I have never accidentally pressed a thumbstick button. You must have the thumbs of a brick layer.

Hope they will fix this in a next patch.
You don't need to push at all, all sticks have a sticky surface so you only need to lightly touch them to use them.
Conclusion: this game needs better mouse support.
Unreal Engine's Carball has free look. PS4 Rocket League has free look, but not on PC? Ohh come on... I only play games with mouse & keyboard and this doesn't feel right being always glued to the ball or just straight forward. Fix this for PC so we can gauge our tactical movement.
