How do you edit replays?
Maybe I'm missing something, but when I open a replay in RL, I can view from whatever camera angle I want, but I can't seem to figure out how to edit a replay in any productive way. How do I, say, have the camera follow a car until a certain keyframe, and then switch to another car? I've tried setting keyframes, but I can't seem to figure out how to get them to do anything, other than just sit there. Does anyone have some information as to doing something like that?

If you are using keyboard press I to view controls for replays. Game says it to you when you open replay.

I use a controller, but I have seen that screen. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what the feature does and does not at this point in time, because when it said "editor" I though of something akin to Trackmania's replay editor ("MediaTracker" as it's called). In Trackmania, you could have the camera change position and move around based on keyframes, so that you could export the edited replay to a video, with all sorts of highlight-y camera angles instead of just the ingame "follow-car" camera. I was expecting that with the replay feature in Rocket League, but as of right now I have not figured out how to do that if it's possible. Either way, thank you for not flaming me on what probably sounded like a noob question.

Does it say editor, though? I'm pretty sure it's just a replay viewer, not an editor.

yeah it just plays the replays. You have to record it with something else and edit it outside of RL. I hope they add more features to it, would love for it to be like GTAV

You can add marks, so i think you can edit angles and replay it how you want + record with you own software

When you highlight the menu option for the replay feature, it says "View and edit saved replays." The store page for RL doesn't mention editing replays, however. I guess it's only for viewing as of right now, and adding custom camera animations will have to be added later. I get what you mean by having to use outside editing software to make a good video, however I think I was more asking about having the game moving the camera automatically based on set keyframes. That way you can have the camera move around reliably and predictably when capturing a video. Thanks for helping out.

At this time you probably just can use the keyframes for marking nice goals and such. But whenever i load the replay again the keyframes i set are lost. So the option to set them isnt any good for my use of them. :D
I hope they are going to add more features soon.:beatmeat:

I think it's basically just a facility for marking points of interest in the saved replay (I think the word keyframes is a little misleading) so that once you mark some points you consider good "in/out" points for clips, you can then play and record. There doesn't seem to be any support for animating the camera, nor do the keyframes save/switch the current camera mode. With Windows 10 Game DVR, doing captures is pretty darn easy, so I can understand why they wouldn't bother trying to re-invent the wheel of a fully blown editing suite with built-in export. I'd be a lot of work that I think the more saavy video folks out there wouldn't end up using anyhow.

Yes! I'm not alone! The trailer said ''Replay editor'', and I thought it was like Mediatracker, but it so difficoult to make any video... I hope Psyonix creates any tool for making videos more easily.
Greetings!

A Replay Editor like the Mediatracker in Trackmania would be awesome!
