cant chat?

I dont know what happened but all of a sudden I cant use the chat normally(cant type), only able to set it to quick chats, team quick chats and disabled

I saw this issue mentioned few times and went to test it out with one guy and he had set it for Quick Chat only.

i9f you need context. i continualy get paired with people who are pat but play like they picked up the game yesterday. they play like their in bronze 1. we lose and i say go back to casual to that player. becouse its true. he is ruining my experiuence and othere peoples experience who wants to play competative.

now with the context. is this a chatt baneble offence. if not then why am i chatt baned. i know i havent changed any settings

It shouldn't be banable if you say just "go back to casual" without offensive word.

Anyway you would probably know you're banned so you aren't most likely.
It has been added to known issues while ago :
- The "Allow All" in-game text chat option does not appear in the gameplay settings even if the User has the correct settings and requirements

Doesn't work.

Similar to others have said, I don't type anything offensive, can chat just fine in Epic, but after playing a game in Rocket League launched from Epic, I can no longer see non-canned chat messages, nor type chat messages in games. I can chat normally with a party (including randoms for tournaments) between games on the main screen, but not during the pre-game tournament ready screen nor games.

Launching from Epic Games allows me to chat just fine with my Epic games name, but I'd rather play through Steam with my Steam name.

Unlinking and then relinking accounts doesn't fix it.

You won't be able to trade with other players and maybe even won't be able to share DLCs from other platforms - when you click on "Create" = Steam will be connected to random nameless EG account.

I'm having this problem too, Psyonix said I had parental controls from Epic blocking the chat feature. I checked Epic and parental controls are off. I sent them logs and they told me to ask Epic support. I uninstalled RL from steam and downloaded it again, no change. got rid of Bakkess mod, no change. I know I cant be chat banned bc all I ever typed was GLHF

its been like 5 months since i posted this and they still didnt fix it lol, but hey new cosmetics

Had same problem though i was playing trough epicgames. Somehow game changed chat options off and i couldnt put them back on. Avast has some problems with this game like cannot connect server excetera. i turned avast firewall down and then started game again and i could change chat settings and join games. after game starts i put firewall again back on and works fine.
