"Upgrading the technology that powers Rocket League, including a move to UE5, is something we are actively working on. This is a long-term project for us, and we'll share more details when we're ready to show our players what's coming next." - Psyonix Devin

I hope it will be good change as well for easier access for example tools for creating maps.
Who knows, maybe Bakkes features for training could be implemented in base game too.
On other side minimum system requirements can be changed little bit I guess.

Also according this comment on Subreddit about Voice Chat - UE5 will be earliest maybe after Season 6 :
">Does voice chat require Unreal engine 5? Or can you add that using 3?
We're adding voice chat back while the game is running on UE3. Right now this is scheduled for Season 6 (subject to change, but that's the current target)."

It could be just a separate version? But then it won't be available on steam
Who even said it was on 4?
