Kicked for being idle in ranked game ? Is that a joke ?
So that just happend. I had full boost, staid as a goalie in a RANKED game. Everything was going on on the other side of the pitch, so I had basically nothing to do.

And then... I was KICKED. In a RANKED game. For being IDLE for like 1 minute. During the extra time (there was 4-4).

Why the f*** would that even happen ? Kicked ? Even if I were Idle, which was not the case, what would happen next ? A new player would have entered this ranked game during the extra time ? Absolute non sense.

So here I am, waiting for my 15 minutes ban penalty and my -X rank loss, for no reason at all... That "kicked for being idle" has absolutly no case in which it would be usefull, I don't even understand how this "feature" could even exist.

did "just" stand around and did not ,move at all?

if so, then 1. that is a bad thing to do as a goalie and 2. its trivial to be kicked when not moving at all :)

if not then this is very strange

also: in a ranked game there is no "rejoin" as people whjo leave the match for whatever reason are not replaced ;)

You get an afk warning on the screen, telling you to move or get kicked.
Save the "I din du nuffin rong" story. You either ignored the warning on the screen or were actually afk.

Well If you drive in your goal you wont get kicked. Every game is like this.
Magellak Dec 13, 2015 @ 10:56am
I was still, not driving around.
About your remarks (which, even if a appreciate your opinion, does not justify this "feature" choice) :
1. What's wrong with not moving at all when the ball doesn't even cross the 1rst quarter of the ennemy team' pitch part ? Can you explain or was it just a smooth way to say you play better than me ?
2. Why trivial to be kicked ? I won't be replaced anyway.

This feature can only lead to misunderstandings.

I did not see any warning, or it may have been written in little. I was staring at what was happening in the other side of the pitch. I'm not calling you a liar, if there was a warning, then I didn't see it :/
But still, I declare this feature useless af.

i declare you useless af if you sat in goal while play was in the other end of the pitch.
DrolNomed Dec 13, 2015 @ 11:08am
when you are a goalie you should ALWAYS face the ball, hence you need to move. just one powerfull hit can send the ball flying at over 130kph from one end of the field to another and you will not be able to react whatsoever because you weren't facing the ball.

if you are not moving you arte registered as afk and in most cases an afk player brings a lot of problems for the team, therefore the game is programmed to kick afk-players :)

btw. i never intended to say that im better than you, which might not be the case, but still if you want to be a goalie you need to learn the basic rule that you never turn the front of your car away from the ball :) take alook at tutorials on youtube (e.G. Gibbs or SubParButInHD). they explain and show you why that is extremely important :)

Whether someone considers him to be playing poorly or not is completely irrelevant.

The fact of the matter is, kicking someone for being idle in a ranked game is completely and utterly stupid and is a problem that should be fixed. In unranked it makes sense because a new player can enter the game and replace you.

In ranked no one is going to replace you, so all that kicking someone does is harm that person's team. It should at least wait until the end of the match before deciding a punishment for someone sitting around doing nothing during the match. There is always a possibility the person just accidently spilled coffee all over their pants and was running around trying to prevent themselves getting third degree burns. If they manage to return in time to finish the last couple minutes that's a huge boost for the team.

I've heard that there are real problems with people matching up and then going afk just to troll, so by kicking them for being idle you're eliminating them from doing that for a short time at least. Those people aren't going to do anything but get in the way in the first place so I consider it the lesser of two evils to kick idlers.

This on so many levels, for example what's to stop me from joining a ranked match and just sitting idle and reap the benefits if my team wins?

I personally would rather have a useless AFK'ing team mate be kicked and not have to worry about his useless AFK'ing ass from getting in the way of a save / shot / clear / etc just by sitting where he spawns when he joined.

Ranked is for dedicated players imo, Unranked should be for the casuals, if you want to step into ranked, don't go afk for what ever reason, when in goal, face the ball, move a bit closer to the centre line, just don't sit idle.

1. You have over 100hrs in the game and ure still sitting at ur goal like a duck even the ball is nowhere near it?
2. Would love RL to raise those penalties for people who does AFK. In your case, what help you were if you just chilled at the goal? Sure, you might be ready when the ball comes but other than that, same as you would be afk.

I'm not pro, nowhere near it even, but if i see my team mates going for the goal, i move max to the mid field, if i see they are losing it, i head back near our goal.

PS. There is a good changes to get easy ''shot on goal'' sometimes in the mid field too. ;)
Dumonster Dec 13, 2015 @ 2:42pm
If you are sitting still at goal, not moving, you deserve to be kicked... In the balls.
Avalanche Dec 13, 2015 @ 2:44pm
Well, i stay in the goal for like 10-20secs just in the off-chance the other team get the ball near the goal, but after that, i head right to the ball and if any opening is there, i will try to score, if just standing around doing nothing, you deserve to get kicked, either contribute or don't bother joining the game.
