Rocket league not running when I press the play button
Hello, can someone help me with a solution for this problem?
Today when I wanted to play Rocket League, I hit Play and nothing happened, the game is not running in background and on Steam do not appear that i am playing RL right now.
I uninstalled the game and installed it again and i have the same problem. The other games start normally.

When a game doesn't open, it usually means that it stops working right after it's started. You can try different possible solutions:
-verify game files on steam
-update your windows version or
drivers
-Check the game cache files
-Disable unnecessary software
-Check your firewall settings and make sure both Steam and the game are excluded.
-Disable Steam Overlay: Friends List, Browser, Chat (some steam services could stop the game)

What Graphic card you have ?

Need to have installed required Microsoft Visuals C++
Right click Windows start button - Applications and features - search C++
You need required C++ 2010s (x86 and x64) and 2015 (x64 should be enough). Also you might have C++ 2O17, need to first uninstall to be able to install C++ 2015.

To be 100% sure upload screenshot of C++ for example through https://imgur.com/upload
My image :
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/759107995123974194/759108110852948008/2010_2015.jpg

All 2010 and 2015 you can download here:
https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020269453-How-do-I-Reinstall-Microsoft-C-Packages-

If 2015 from support article will not work you can try 2015-2019 x64 : vcredist_x64.exe from here :
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Try all 3 steps here - deleting Cache, disabling cloud (under General tab not under Update) and renaming folder with steps in link :
https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024292254-How-Do-I-Fix-a-Runtime-or-NTDLL-Error-when-Starting-Rocket-League-
or
https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054169294-Crashing-on-a-PC

Also You may be unaware of some issue with Microsoft OneDrive cloud service which may cause some issues. For example your files are not syncing properly or can not delete Cache folder, rename folder, or just some issues with game finding these files.
Try look on Microsoft support article :
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-is-stuck-on-processing-changes-b386b813-9b66-4e47-8c4c-2b45533edccd

Ways which can help me to try find issue :
Launch log in Documents - My games - Rocket League - TAGame - Logs to try find something about why game crashed.
Can upload text from file for example to https://pastebin.com/

Also Reliability History in Windows with Crash/Not responding reports :
Control Panel - Security and Maintenance - Maintenance - View Reliability History (Monitor) - View all reports -
Search for Rocket League and View Details for most recent date. (if you have more reports click on "More" and double click to open one with recent time)
Can upload screenshot for example to https://imgur.com/upload

Got the same problem as of today. 8 hours ago everything worked fine and just yet it seems to have stopped working. Restarted Steam/PC, cleared cache, disabled cloud, renamed the folder and watched it creating a new one. Visual C++ is also all installed [imgur.com]. No report in my reliability history regarding Rocket League. No launch log avaliable (only the old one (733kb!), [pastebin.com] where it was still working). I also closed every accessible program that was running in the background.

If it started happening without Rocket League being updated at the moment it started creating problems, I don't think it has to do anything with the game then.

C++ should be fine, although I see that you probably reinstalled 2015-2019 yesterday so just in case try reinstall 2010s too. Should be able to choose repair option in Apps or download from article :
https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020269453-How-do-I-Reinstall-Microsoft-C-Packages-

Are you sure there was no Reliability History - View all problem reports?
Also since it didn't create new log you may have issue with OneDrive cloud syncing if you have it, look for example here :
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sync-files-with-onedrive-in-windows-615391c4-2bd3-4aae-a42a-858262e42a49
and
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-is-stuck-on-processing-changes-b386b813-9b66-4e47-8c4c-2b45533edccd

There also could be maybe issue with pending/failed/stucked Windows Updates or Antivirus/Firewall.

You can try look in my guide part "Game won't start" for few more suggestions :

I just made some quick (rouhgly 3 hours) reverse engineering and found out that the "VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL" was randomly deleted out of my registry and thus caused this issue. So maybe its also the case for the OP? Thanks for your help quickER :)
quickER 🛠 Feb 12, 2021 @ 6:35pm
No problem!
Thanks for following my instructions and showing good example how to reply. :praisesun:

"VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL" from what I know/found is part of C++ 2015.
How did you reverse engineered it? I know there's .exe file for C++ in : Steam/steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared/vcredist/2015 ; but don't remember if that's folder where it's installed. (not currently on PC)

Hopefully it helps to OP too.

Hello! When I start Rocket League it loads for 10 seconds and then just stopps working.
I tried:

Launching it on steam and on Edpic Games.
Deleting Chache
Deleting Config and looked in an folder called "DefaultSystemSettings" The Resolution was weird like 1280x720
I tried starting it in windowed mode in "Launch Option" with : -windowed
I reInstalled the game
Reinstalled Microsoft C++ Packages 2010
I downloaded Framework 4.6.2 Runtime
startet it as and Administrator
I looked in the latest Log and found nothing
Installed latest Graphic Card driver

And I found out I have DirectX 12

Close Gif your game. It's been causing rocket league to crash on startup for a lot of people.

Instead of just deleting Cache folder do other steps = Try all 3 steps here - deleting Cache, disabling cloud (under General tab not under Update) and renaming folder with steps in link :

You also need C++ 2015 x64 as i provided in my screenshot :
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/759107995123974194/759108110852948008/2010_2015.jpg

If you found nothing in latest Log then maybe i can see something.
