Help! Game says I have a different version than friends

I am trying to join a party created by a friend (all of us are using steam) and I get the message "unable to join party, they are using a different version of the game." I tried verifying the game integrity and that did not work.

Anyone know how to fix this?

check for an update if you havent already
see if they need to update
maybe try again sometimes its buggy

uninstall if all else fails then reinstall
