Help with linking epic and steam

I have a epic games account with the wrong steam account connected, and I want to connect a different one, (my current main) but when I go to un-link it says I wont be able to link another steam account if I do so. Is there a fix or is it just not possible?

If you want to link a different steam account, you can do so removing the restriction and linking a new platform account once every 365 days (1 year). To make any changes, you must be logged in and have access to the email registered to your Epic Games account.

Before starting the process to remove a restriction, you need to unlink the platform from your Epic Games account. You can use the steps in this article:

and after that, perform the steps here to try remove the platform account restriction:

after that, you should be able to link the other steam account.

make sure all the progress is not in the steam account you have now connected because if there is any, it will be removed from your current epic account.
to do so, make sure steam is not the primary platform here:

and that u didnt play using it.
