Unfortunately it's a lie on the steam page.
They dropped support ages ago.
Fortunately proton is great.
Eh, Epic is unfortunately a giant corpo that's all about the bottom line.
I'm just sad psyonix was lured in by their promises(and money), whatever they may have been.
Yeah I've been slowly dipping my toes into more linux based things and have to say the work on proton is amazing!
Psyonix was not lured. The owner and most of the devs were originally from Epic. They left to make Psyonix so they could make a few of their own smaller games and help other bigger devs/companies learn how to use the Epic engine.
Psyonix was more of an Epic engine consulting company than anything.
All Iv'e seen is that they were contracted out by Epic since almost Psyonix's inception. When did they ever work at Epic, before acquisition?
Dave(Ceo of Psyonix) worked directly with Epic when developing the Onslaught mode for UT2004. Around when Editor's Choice edition was coming out Dave created Psyonix with some devs that had also worked on UT2004.
Psyonix even worked on UT3 and lots of other big games like Mass Effect.
