Steam Deck - No longer supported.
Well it seems part of their removal to support Linux based system also means it no longer plays on the Steam Deck. I get an "no longer supported" message when loading up today. What a step backwards. My most played game I am now no longer able to play. What a disappointment. F U Epic!

Serious? lol, coming back to Rocket League was mostly due to me playing it on the Steam Deck.

Worked perfectly and was the best deck game to chill on the couch with. Very disappointing.

Set Rocket League to run under Proton Experimental in the game Properties
My guess is its trying to run the discontinued Linux version by default

I am currently trying to get this to work but having some trouble getting the game working with both controls and just being able to launch the game depending on what launcher im using. Im using Heroic Launcher to download rocket league and I added that to steam (Both the Launcher and the Game itself). I can launch rocket league from Heroic, but when I launch through it I have trouble with the joysticks and buttons acting like keyboard and mouse inputs. Ive tried filtering through all of the recent "Steam Play compatibility tools" (For Steam) Ex. "Proton Experimental", "Proton 9.0-4" down the list to "Proton 7.0-6" and all the corresponding "Wine Versions" (For HL) Ex. "Proton - Experimental" etc. None of the combinations are working to be able to launch the game from steam (Desktop or Gaming Mode). I want to use the steam deck's built in default control configuration software in gaming mode to fix my controller issues. I tried with an xbox controller also and it was acting the same. If you guys were able to get it working recently I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions. I just got this thing a month ago and I absolutely love it but I'm just starting to get into playing games through launchers other than steam and I'm having a lot of trouble figuring this one out but I wont quit because I think rocket league is awesome and on the steam deck would be insane. Please help.

The goal of epic games is to drive out gamer out of steam, of course they wont support steamdeck. You are out of luck.

You must use Proton. The native Linux build of the game is no longer supported.

If you're on a Steam Deck and haven't messed with or installed a different OS. You literally just install the game and it runs without issues.

As already stated, you need to turn on Proton Compatibility in Steam settings otherwise.

Steam - > Settings -> Compatibility -> Enable Steam Play for all other titles

Mine runs fine using Proton 9.0-4. Also running Bazzite on my Steam Deck instead of SteamOS.

For some weird reason it still makes it run the linux version and not through proton, even when I have enbaled this and using the default SteamOS.

Does it not work through gaming mode or am I missing something?

Game works perfectly fine with proton 9.0-4 (for anyone who is looking through this old thread)
