How do i drift?

Saw many youtube vids about drifting in this game but couldnt see a vid that explains how to do so.

press the "X" button on a Xbox 360/one controller and if your on keyboard and mouse i think its shift.

Keyboard and the keys are modified. not sure what shift does but just tell me what the key does? I put jump and boost with mouse buttons, nothing much else to use in this game for what i know.

if you use a controller you're going to have a much better time.

Never used that key before, and i just tried with free drive mode and it works pretty good.
