Support for multiple soundcard inputs/outputs devices in a PC
I cannot use my headset in this game because my PC has front connectors and back connectors that behave as separate in and output devices instead of all of them being combined. The back connectors go to the speakers, so the game sound goes to that, and I can also hear people talk through there. The front connectors go to the headset. It would be nice if I could change voice chat to output to the headset only. And for this same reason people cannot hear me talk in-game as well, because the game doesn't seem to detect the microphone.

So, I would like to request to please consider adding support for multiple sound inputs and outputs devices that can be selected as advanced audio options via a drop down menu or something.

Happy holidays.

Thanks for the heads up HoRRoRiST! And sorry about the inconvenience.
If you go into your Device Manger > Audio inputs and outputs
Do you see a separate device for your headphones and your speakers?

No, most likely because they are both not USB devices, but using analog connectors (3.5mm plugs). They do show up as separate devices in the Windows Sound settings under the Playback and Recording tabs. Under the Playback tab I have one called Speakers and one called Headphones (but you can name those anything you want, really). And under the Recording tab I have 2 microphones inputs, of which one is disabled (the back one), and then the front one, which I'm using.

There is a sort of hack method that can be done to achieve this.

The way sound works in game is pretty barebones at the moment and is probably going to be overhauled in the future. Currently the Game sound and Voice chat are separate from one another. Voice doesn't look at sound devices the way Game sound does. Voice will not change devices if the game is still running

Currently the way you can go about doing this is to set your Headphones as the main device in Windows, then start the game. While game is running, change the Windows default back to your Speakers. This should cause the game sound to now come out of speakers. But voice will remain on your headset.

Also, what brand of Sound card do you have? Onboard? Dedicated? Usually there is an option to change if Front inputs are registered as separate or the same as back.

Thank you for that, I will try this when I get back. :) Will this method also work for the microphone though? As this hack sounds like its for the voice sound only.

The Mic also works the same way with Voice. It won't change mid-game.

Just make sure your mic is set as Windows Default before starting the game.

This method worked, thanks! I did notice an odd issue, though. A player that also had a headset seemed to be able to speak a lot, while for me it only seems to work intermittently. If I press the Push To Talk button too much, the indicator that I'm speaking doesn't pop up anymore for a short time, it seems that I have to wait a bit again and then it works again, I also noticed this when not using PTT. This guy didn't seem to have that problem, though I did not ask if he was using PTT or not.

Also, this guy could speak in the "after game lobby", while I could not, no matter if I turned PTT on or off, it wouldn't work for me. Only typing works there. And with that I also seemed to have noticed some troubles in the lobby, like my message not always going through. At first I thought it was some kind of rate limiting that I'm hitting, but I don't think thats it, as I wasn't spamming a message or anything like that.

Anyway, great game, looking forward to that audio overhaul.
