and login using the steam button and input your steam account credentials, then, always on the website, go to the settings --> connections tab.
there unlink steam from the nameless epic account.
after that, log out from that epic account, log in back in the website with your epic games main account credentials and always in the connection tab log in using the steam account you unlinked before.
after that, you can set steam as main platform account if it is where you have most of the progress, using this website:

Thank you so much, I don't know whats different now but I tried that already and the last Time it wanted to link it to a new Epic acc. (What I obv not did because a had already one)
At this point you either need to shell at least 300$ or get the game from epic.
I am not sure if you are still dealing with this issue but this is what i did to fix it. Whenever you log in to your Epic account with your Steam option, it will ask you to finish your Epic account set up. Now, since i have my main email address already connected to my main Epic account, it was giving me the error that "I already have an Epic account connected to that email." So you will have to create another email in order to 'finish the set up' so it can let you fully log in. Then you will have the option to remove your Steam log in from this made up Epic account. Once you do that you can log out of this Epic account, and then log in with your main Epic accnt. You will now be able to connect your Steam accnt to it. (I had to do this since I recently went from Xbox to PC) I hope this helps!
