Xbox Cross-Network Play Happening

Officially confirmed by our friends at Microsoft earlier today, Rocket League and Xbox One cross-network play will soon become a reality!

To say that the team here at Psyonix is both honored and excited to have Rocket League as the first cross-network game is a massive understatement. Cross-network play has been the number-one most requested feature our community has asked for since Rocket League was first announced on Xbox One, and now that we are able to pursue complete online unity on all platforms, today’s announcement is a dream come true.

Expect to see Rocket League cross-network play working on Xbox One and PC later this spring, with information regarding other platforms coming soon.

We can’t wait!

Microsoft has pretty much tossed the ball into Sony's court, saying that they will support Cross-Play for any other console.

It's up to Sony now. Hopefully they join into the fun.

This is understood. But can we (PC players) team up with players from Xbox?

So all you've really done is expand matchmaking for more opponents. We still can't party with anyone from other platforms. So who cares? Extremely disappointed I can't play with my brother on Xbox One.

Now that cross platform play is going to be supported, is there any possibility the devs will be introducing cross platform party creation? It sucks not being able to party up with my friends on PS4 while i'm on Steam and having to rely on luck to get into the same games.

Cross platform play was supported before, just not with Xbox One, so I wouldn't expect any changes with party creation.

Can you private party say one person from a computer and one person from a ps4 for rocket league? sorry for the noob question lol

But you can't. You can't crossplay with PS4 either right now. You just share automatic matchmaking queue but you can't join a crossplay party.
