Why do people hate Merc cars?
Just some guy said that he thought Merc cars are for 'ret@rds'... but looking at the car charts, Merc car is very good car in this game.

Despite, I see many people use Dominus and Takumi in high levels, even pro players use them, e.g Kronovi, Doomsee. Octane also good choice.

eh, what would you rather have in real life, a van or a muscle car, thats my logic at least

Pick the car you like playing most with. If it works for you, who cares what others think ? It's part of the game. Besides, Merc has great low arc shots.

Merc's stats are not quite as good as others.
(Such as turn rate, hitbox, etc)

The best cars in general are Hotshot, Octane, Breakout, Dominus.

It's not the cars I disagree with (Although I won't use it because of the turning speed and whatnot)

It's that the majority of people who use mercs seem to be focused very heavily on destructions, yea I know it's part of the game, and I don't mind people being blown up tactically, to take out the goalkeeper, prevent a shot etc.

I just can't stand it when someone spends an entire game blowing people up for no reason.

There's some nonsense stigma attached that it's a 'noob car', along with the Road Hog. Probably because their flat trajectories making them a long distance threat and inability to use the roof for dribbling.

It's a lot easier to hit the ball with the Merc. It's the tradeoff you have for getting a more maneuverable car; you're shorter. Sometimes the ball will hit you through dumb luck because your hitbox is bigger.

The Merc's turn rate while boosting is among the worst. Its turn rate while power sliding is among the worst. If two vehicles miss the ball and have to turn around to go back for it most vehicles will beat you to the ball because of your inability to turn quickly.

The merc isn't able to launch the ball as high off the front end when it hits a stopped or slowly moving ball so its harder to get it up over a goalie in close to the net if it isn't already bouncing.

The only real strength that the merc has is that I think it is the tallest vehicle so it has more success blocking balls by driving across in front of them, however its not really that much taller than the octane which can turn very quickly and is still tall enough to cut off the ball.

Some people feel it's an important pillar of the Rocket League culture not to cut the van players any slack

It's the only vehicle that can score a reliable kick-off goal going at full speed with Boost.

It does decent straight shots and that's about where its perks end (nothing other cars can't do with a little of skills), TurboStyle's post sums it up nicely
