Steam vs Epic client
Does anybody has a clue why RL looks better and performs better on Epic Launcher than on Steam ? For me thats the case and i use the same account on both clients so i have the same settings on both platforms, yet on Epic the visuals are sharper and the performance feels better ( on steam it seems to have dsync some times and it feels a bit faster while on epic i only have stutters from time to time but no major dsyncs { these are really rare } plus better visuals on same settings is a huge plus in my book on Epic ) Im just wondering why this is the case, shouldnt the game be the same technically ? When i looked up Google for answers i didnt found one so im asking here, if anybody had similar experiences or if anybody has a clue about whats going on technically. Im running AMD hardware also. ALso yes i have any Steam overlay deactvitated, no big picture aswell in regards of controller input lag. still that wouldnt explain the visual differences on the same settings.

If you run it from steam, it means that you are running TWO DRMS at same time, epic and steam, while it's only epic in epic games. That's why i'm running from epic nowadays.

Placebo. There are no differences in terms of visual looks of the game.

Steam is just heavier to run since it uses SteamWorks for connecting to servers and seeing friends list and such.

There is no "TWO DRMS". It requires Epic Games Store to be running to run the game and it's the same way with Steam, must have Steam running to run the game. Having the store fronts running is about the only "DRM" that you get.

Is it the antialiasing? The antialiasing settings have been buggy for a long time, sometimes making it so the game has no AA at all. Also I remember there being a stutter problem relating to a voice chat bind on the Steam version but that may have been fixed by now.

Oh yeah sure, and that's because Sunless had issues - namely reocurring insta-freeze lag - with Steam version and fresh account on Epic didn't have any of it, and has it on video. But yeah, "trust me bro".

yeah i also think its the anti aliasing bug, even when its turned off on steam it seems to be on i guess and gives input lag and less sharpness. i remember someone saying similar things but forgot about it.

It's funny because all replies in this thread as I posted this (except the mod, which i believe also own the game on steam) has the icon that they HAVE the game in steam.

But anyway, we haven't much choice. Epic slapped it on our faces. We aren't fanboys tbh, we are just running out of options.
