Why does no one talk in this game anymore?

I've noticed this in most games I've logged into, no one talks, not even a casual chat. The only texts people write are toxic things telling you to shut up, ♥♥♥, uninstall, racist crap etc...

I'm thinking it's a generational thing that a lot of younger gamers have accepted toxicity as a natural part of games but my God have they made games not fun to play.

I always feel like I'm playing a single player game with toxic bots. To the point now it's just creepy.

Because this game and community are toxic at this point, I only keep my chat turned on to report the a-holes that tell you to kill yourself or use racial slurs. At least you know you are forcing them away from their main account for a few days because that's the only way anyone gets a ban in this game. You can only hope and pray that they eventually get a permaban so they lose everything on their main account.

God knows Psyonix won't block them from the game completely though, so there is no getting rid of them completely.

Play solo if you can't handle dealing with the rare occasions of toxic chat. You people act like its the main thing people do, when most of the time when I do find people that talk, it improves the game, and we communicate, making for a better match.

This is a team game. Communication is important. Mute / block players that are toxic. Taking the chat off entirely ruins the game. If you want to 'just concentrate' or focus on the game by yourself, you may as well play solo. So many games are ruined by lack of communication and people just running over each other as they try to solo during a 3v3. People complain so much about other teammates but wont even open up the chat to try and coordinate.

Play solo if you can't communicate.

You don't understand that people with a functioning brain has a perception of their surroundings. Depending on the teammates locations in relation to opponents and ball location they have different possibilities. You do not need to communicate what you are supposed to do.
For example in a standard game you have two other teammates, a basic foundational rule is to rotate so your teammates can advance to the next situation. Now, depending on your rank your teammates will act differently. At lower ranks most people just keep chasing without any regard for rotation or passing own teammates.
You do not need to say that you are rotating because you are expected to rotate after clearing a situation. If you need to say that you will take the shot then it's because you and possibly more of the teammates have a lack of initiative and/or are placed in the wrong area on the pitch.
Many matches are just pure crap because people act like one man teams without having any competence for it. People are just narcissistic and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the same time.
Just don't play a team based game mode if you don't plan on playing like there are teammates in your team. It's very simple but people who don't care about others won't care about that either.

I got chat switched off. It's just not worth having on anymore. Not even quick chat. Been playing since 2015, however over the years I have to realise its simply not worth having on. The game is more peaceful with it off & I doubt I will ever turn it back on
