they don't need to be banned, they can just be locked out of their, they'd need epic's help to unlockt it. Btw epic can lock/ban anyone they want, this game is NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN as some might think, it's still their property... or do you take any hitchhiker you see with you in the car? Don't think so, so why would epic do so ?z
And how can they make a new acc and play it off as anything else. You see the name
There's even mods that can change your online status in the epic friendslist (where you can normally see if they're in a game and which type of game; i've seen many people with customized "status".
how can one make a new account? ez; you go to any free mail service that doesn't require you to give up a phone nr (or get yourself your own domain), and create as many mail accounts as u want which in turn will be used on epic svcs to create as many epic accounts..
I've seen people playing with rotating accounts..
example: (the account names are just as an axample)
AJ-Daytime001 -> plays during daytime, S01 S05 S09
AJ-Daytime002 -> plays during daytime S02 S06 S10
AJ-Daytime003 -> plays during daytime S03 S07
AJ-Daytime004 -> plays during daytime S04 S08
AJ-Evening001 -> Plays during evening S01 S05 S09
AJ Evening002 -> Plays during evening S02 S07 S10
.....
is it getting clear now who are the majority of the cheaters? those that create multiple accounts because they have the time for it and because they need EZ access to content...
ow and in case AJ wants to defend himself.. I have him on YT admitting this while i caught him redhanded.
is this fair to people that play honestly? NO it's not ... it's just all for content... they switch accounts and let them "lower rank for a few seasons and then switch over continuously... I think you should realise that ANY player who plays CHAMP level or better and has only 1000 Wins on his account is BY DEFAULT a cheat.
Smurfing is not cheating against the gameplay, but it's cheating against the ranking system. It's getting yourself a benefit which is not part of the game, by modifying your credentials (changing to new mail adres for logging in) which you were not supposed to have. Like i said before, what if in real life you start playing a competitive sport, eg ping-pong... and you're in a regional tournament where you have big chance to win cuz you're "good". and suddenly the world champ shows up cuz he's greedy and wants it all for him (the prizemoney), he has a second ID (a fake one) which he uses to sub himself and nobody recognizes him. we all know the outcome, everyone gets demolished by him and YOUR chance to promote to a higher level is GONE... but hey, it's not cheating right? it's not harmful to others, right?
If you defend this kind of behaviour, you're one of the reasons why there is so much toxicity; because i immediately see other players stats, and when i see a player with 300 wins playing like a champ, then that ruins my joy for an HONEST match, i don't care about winning or losing the game if it's fair. i like to win, but i don't care to lose from someone actually at my rank.
If you think this is all BS, then ask yourself; would a streamer that earns thousands of dollars per month, get nothing but wins all the time if he was ONLY playing against people from his own rank? No he would probably be winning only half of the matches, and since people at his rank are way better in defending, the amount of "cool shots" would drop spectacularly... They do this because it saves the TONS of time, gets them tons of cash and their viewers don't realise they're just cheating the system to gain ez wins at the cost of honest people...
just think about that pingpong (tabletennis) example; that champ would get bad press for what he did, playing under a pseudonym to "take away" the money/gains from honest players... but in RL and on twitch, people just think these "cheaters" are COOL people and they should be followed... sorry, they're just pieces of excrement if u ask me, using and abusing the system in place for their own gains at the cost of other people...
Why do people stop playing rocket league and why does the playercount drop so fast every time? very ez to explain: people just don't like it anymore that they constantly get crushed by overpowered players in 1v/2v/3v ranked games, i see players with 20 games on their account playing CHAMP tournaments..
maybe, just maybe, you should install overwolf and use tracker plugin for it.. i think your eyes will open very fast on how prevalent it has become; when u see everyone's stats before the game even starts. (and stats from all modes btw).. bakkesmod is not good to see someone's stats/rank... use tracker and you'll see very fast what's wrong with RL and why so many stop playing it...
lol so little? i see at least a dozen PER DAY, sometimes even 4 in 1 MATCH ....
eg: champ level tournament; i go in random, the other team are ALL players with less than 200 wins on their account, one of my tm's has 2300 wins, and the third guy has 90 wins on his account...
That's a match we'll lose by default... even when i have +11K wins on my account... those on the other team are prolly C/GC level, that's why they cheat "in group", maybe even a proteam (yeah, they cheat too, mayb not all, but most of them do this). That honest guy on my team? well; he's probably the best of our team as he's a lot younger than me and has quicker reflexes. the cheater on my team is the worst of them all, soloing kid that thinks a new account makes him play better bcuz he ranks up a lot faster with it... usually these are the worst players of them all and have 0 teamplay skills...
if you randoqueue tournaments (at least here in europe) that's how A LOT of tournaments begin for me... seeing those stats, already knowing it's over before the match even started... i'll try my best and do everything i can, but all stuff i said in the paragraph before, will come true time and time again...
If i rando queue with 3 people from my rank and the opponents have 1 or 2 cheaters, we usually WIN, because we're AT rank, and there's a discrepancy between the level of the other team, making them worse in teamplay/rotation...
It might all sound stupid and far fetched, but if you take the time to think over what i wrote, you'll realise it's just the hard cold truth.
I said it before; if you don't believe me; install tracker plugin for overwofl, all of a sudden "mmr" because the stat you're NOT looking at anymore, but its "how much total wins do they have, what's their "XP" according to the amount of games played on this account".... is he HONEST or is he abusing a flaw in the system to gain advantage (which you say is NOT cheating?)
ow and the flaw in the system is; that your game account is not UNIQUELY tied to your person, but that you can attach as many accounts to yourself as u want, because epic doesn't do anything about it. In their mindset there are only players and money, the rest is not important... Epic is an awful company that only cares about their bank account, not about the players, don't think they do cuz i've had enough experience that they don't... why do you think their store is nothing more than just a store, (the bare minimum so they can make lots of cash) compare their store vs steam, xbox, ps.. where you have a PLATFORM that holds communities, communication between players, etc etc.. On epic you can't even send a plain text msg to a friend from one game to another. you need to start a game, create a party, and then use partychat to communicate.. in steam/xbox/PS/ you just go to your freindslist, and send whatever you want... but maintaining such systems costs money, which epic prefers to keep in their and their investors' pockets... even EA is a less evil company than epic...
the ball is controlled by the server, i think you're having lag problems.
ow and yes, i've noticed that playing in other regions (with a lot higher PING) actually is advantageous to the ones with the higher ping.. certainly in mid-levels like plat/dia ...
that's why u see the ball suddenly changing direction. it's because of the ping and higher ranked players abusing that to get more ez wins... I've experienced it myself; scoring goals on kickoff i otherwise just can't see happening (during the game on my screen you see I touched it first, in the replay you see the opponent actually touched it first and MY hit was second and redirected the ball directly into their goal...) The thing is; i get correct input from their cars, the other team sees my car but at a delayed position, one can abuse this to let the other team think i'm gonna hit it to left, and at the time when i should do my last correction, i change directions and on the opponent his screen they don't see this anymore, so they get the impression i went for it like how i drove up to the ball, but on my screen something completely different happens...
yes using lag to introduce an advantage is happening and real... people should be locked to their regions for ranked play. IDC what happens in casual, it's called that way for a reason... but ranked should be locked to the region, just like other games do (for a very sound reason!)
Cheating in video games involves a video game player using various methods to create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually in order to make the game easier. Cheats may be activated from within the game itself (a cheat code implemented by the original game developers), or created by third-party software (a game trainer or debugger) or hardware (a cheat cartridge). They can also be realized by exploiting software bugs; this may or may not be considered cheating based on whether the bug is considered common knowledge.
this is what wikipedia says ...
i think cheaters want to sweet talk smurfing as not cheating, but it IS cheating
they use third party tools (a mailserver) to create an advantage (new account, so the system thinks they have 0 xp) over other players (ez wins) they should normally not have (playing at their own rank, against players from their own rank).
and they cheat against the ranking system by doing this, and this is an integral part of the game, as it defines what opponent you'll get next...
so if you ever think that someone who says "multi-accounting" is not cheating... just direct them to the wiki about "cheating in video games"... cuz he's probably just a cheat himself that uses any excuse to lie about himself not cheating... so yeah, u just dropped a LOT on my respect-ladder just by what u said... (or you're very ignorant, but we both know that after having a game for this many years, it's not that)
ow btw; i've seen NEW steam accounts with RL, bought by pro players so they have a new reason why they're not cheating... "im not cheating cuz i'm using a steam account"... but when u go into the steam account you see it's one with 1 bought game (RL) and a few F2P games they added to create a "profile"...
no, having a steam account does not mean you're not cheating
These days the initial rank-in and matchmaking does a pretty good job to get those players quickly close into matches with other players close to their skill level.
That said - rocket league never was a perfectly balanced game in this regard - there will always be players better or worse than their rank is.
Also inbalance is a big part of creating fun in pvp games - and rocket league is specialy one of those games where the skill sealing is so high and skill in general is soo inconsistent (many factors) that in the end ... man stop flaming and just have some fun matches!
:D
Smurfing still isnt cheating
Your respect-ladder...oh no. What am I now supposed to do?
I stopped playing RL years ago. Before the Epic switch. Just played a few games with a PS friend for laughs.
All you do, is sound bitter because you are not skilled enough. That insane amount of hours, and you are still mid tier
lol you think a smurf creates 1 extra account? they create multiple, use one for a week, then let it rest for the rest of the season so it "deranks" again on the "partial reset" epic does.. this partial reset is only there to keep the content creators happy and not let the "smurfing accounts" get totally out of control...
almost every streamer i know is using multiple accounts, they're all cheating..
and what u said about "the matchmaking system blah blah" ... dude, once they're back at OG rank (that's quite a few games btw) they just start all over again...
I've seen accounts with 12 total wins playing in CHAMP tournaments, beating the total crap out of actual champ players.. but hey, it's fair uh..
to give you an example: let's talk Mike Tyson... the earbiting boxer.. Let's say he creates a fake ID (compare this to an email adress u need to register an account) and this fake ID says "Maki T Aison". The boxer can change his faco and body to look whatever he wants (compare this to the garage in RL), now he uses this "Maki T Aison" ID to register himself as a new boxer in the league... where will he start u think? at the top? no, he starts at the bottom like everyone else. but he's not a bottom player, so he demolishes everyone on his "road to WC", steals all the prizes from the events away from people that actually would deserve it but just got totally OP by mika t aison... by the time Mike is at WC level again (at his actual level), he'll just create another fake ID and start all over, doing exactly the same... this way he looks cool, because in the video's his fake name is hidden for the viewers, so they think it's always the real mike tyson just owning his peers. But in reality it's Mike Tyson beating the crap out of people that have less than 5% of the experience he has. Well, you think this is not cheating? in real life, if this would happen in some league of gaming, it'd be a scandal ond the sportsman doing this would be ousted and hated by everyone who is FOR FAIR PLAY...
You calling this not cheating makes me only believe that you're part of the problem and will find any excuse you can to sweettalk cheating... because you don't have the guts to tell your viewers that you actually cheat to get all that great content... and if that's not the case than you're either very naive or you're lacking any sense of morality..
