Ok.

Don't know why they'd be afraid of it. Considering you can install Epic Games on Linux and Steam Deck and play just fine.

Rocket League runs fine on pretty much any version of Linux using Proton.

Arch is Linux. It literally has it in the name.

You must realise the arch thing was a joke, just like arch users.

Nevertheless, yes it does. But it degrades performance and takes up too much space

Does it? My Steam Deck is able to run the game above 100+ FPS when I hook it up to a monitor.

I don't personally use any Linux distro as my daily driver. So I don't really know of any suggestions to help fix performance.

It's not really something that can be fixed, proton is technically "bridging a gap" and it comes with some trade-offs. It works well, better than what we used to have, but it's annoying to deal with on some older hardware.

Are you using steam's rocket league or did you get epic games? (I haven't played this since it stopped supporting linux)
