Game Crashes when Starting (Yes, I've tried all of the steps)

Let me say this up front. I know that there are some known issues and I have done EVERYTHING I've found to get it working. My set up is as follows:

Windows 10
AMD Radeon 2GB R9 290X (latest drivers)
4 GB RAM


Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Run the game as administrator
2. Run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7
3. Run the game as administrator with compatibility mode for Windows 7
4. Validated the integrity of game cache
5. Uninstalled and then reinstalled video card drivers
6. Set Steam to run as administrator
7. Downloaded and reinstalled Visual Studio 2010
8. Downloaded and reinstalled DirectX 9
9. Uninstalled and reinstalled Rocket League in Steam
10. Found the settings .ini file in both the Documents folder for the user (TASystemSettings.ini) and the one on the Steam folder (DefaultSystemSettings.ini)

I know it says that you found the settings .ini files, but did you try lowering the graphics settings?

Don't lower your resolution. Lower some of the graphics settings. Here is some of my current settings in the .ini:

For some of these, you'll want to set them to "False" instead of "True". Also, for things like MaxAnisotropy, try lowering the number (in my case I would lower from 4 to 1).

Do u receive any error message when u start the game via the .exe in the rocketleague folder ?

Funnily enough, graphics settings and driver issues are the main cause of games not launching correctly.

Another fix, OP, would be going into the control panel of your graphics card and making sure that it is the default graphics card being used.

No, I don't get ANY error at all. When I start the program, it pauses for 5 - 10 seconds while it attempts to run and then simply says Rocket League has stopped working.

When I look at the Event Viewer, this is what it shows:

I only have the one video card. The onboard video has been disabled.

So, I uninstalled Steam, deleted all of the user side files for Steam I could find, restarted the computer, reinstalled and STILL have the same problem.

Did you have any updates ran on your computer recently? Is rocket league the only game that is doing this?

Yes, this is the only game that I know of. I didn't notice any updates recently. I JUST bought the game yesterday and it hasn't worked since I bought it.

Run that and hopefully it will install the appropriate dx9 files needed

You can do the same for vcredist_x86 or vcredist_x64 at
