None of these things are true. You might get none in five hours, you might get one per hour. If there's a pattern, nobody's spotted it yet. All you can do is play online ranked and unranked games, but not private matches or single-player.
so you should join a match and then pray that you get put in one with not very much time remaining, exit as soon as the match ends and then go into another match until you get an item
unfortunately it doesn't seem like it is that much faster than playing the game normally, maybe the answer lies in building a robot that can play the game 24/7, or maybe using slave labor
really i wish there was a better way but psyonix leaves us with little options these days
actually we do know some things about the drop rate, at least based on what psyonix has claimed
When they first introduced uncommons they said this in the news update:
"One interesting thing to note is that the new “Uncommon Item’s” drop-rate won’t have a fixed percentage like the seasonal items do. Instead, your chances of getting an “Uncommon Item” increases the longer you play the game. After earning an Uncommon Item, the time then resets and you start all over again in your quest to get another one."
And we also know that there is a time limit of 10 hours (of in match gametime) per week that you can get drops, which is also separate from your crate drop limit
Good info.
To be honest, my brain went straight to "crate drops" rather than "item drops", since we were never so itchy about this topic as we have been since Rumble, but you're right - if that's all the OP meant then there is a different rate of regularity. It feels like item drops are much rarer now that we're getting crates, though?
Just keep playing.
