Xbox one controller - right bumper lags (Windows)

I have racked my brain trying to figure this one out, and I just can't. I have a wireless xbox one controller with the wireless USB adapter. All works well, controller is fantastic. I have previously used xbox 360 controllers, and have had no issues using them, ever.
When using my xbox one controller, the right bumper creates very noticeable FPS stutter/lag. if i hold the button, it makes the game virtually unplayable. This does not occur in training or offline modes, only when playing online matches. I can't figure out what it is or how to fix it. In the interim I've had to remap what I prefer to use for right bumper to another button, as right bumper is the only one giving me trouble.

Does anyone have any insight to this? The controller works fine in all other games, no issues experienced except in online play in rocket league, and only with the right bumper.

all drivers reasonably up to date

Do you have voice chat also binded to it? Voice chat causes me to lag in RL. It's a known issue.

it was, and i didn't realize it, or think that might be it as i had voice chat disabled in the options. That solved it. Thanks for the help :D

I have had this problem for months now and could not find a fix online. Got so frustrated in game that I decided to research some more. Many blessings to you for discovering a fix.
