Engine + Boost sound quiet and low quality?
So I started Rocket League after the cross-platform friends update and I suddenly hear that both my engine and boost sounds are extremely quiet and sound like they are playing from under my pillow.

Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I messed around with the audio settings and also changed my engine sound and boost, nothing helped.

Everything else (ball hits, goals, rumble item sounds etc.) sound exactly like they have before.

yeah me too, and goal explosions explode my ears
It is pretty awful. I can hardly hear any car approach me now.

Goal explosions are not an issue for me, they haven't changed at all.

My friend has the same, muffled sound, issues. I, however have no issues besides the max-speed-sound that happens when you reach maximum speed.
The ball definitely sounds like a dull thud now. Not nearly as satisfying as it sounded before, and some sounds do seem a bit muffled.

I just asked a stranger I was playing against if they patched the sounds, and he/she replied, "Sounds like ♥♥♥♥ , right?"

I have the same issues, I literally had to stop playing because I couldn't focus on things because the sound was so off(it was perfect before, why would they even change it)

At first I actually thought something was wrong with my pc's sound, but since other games are just fine, must be a bug with rocket league

EDIT : I wonder how these sound issues even made it through testing, it was the first thing i noticed when launching the game, that all sounds were off..not just a little but a lot.

Check to make sure that the game isn’t set to surround sound. The engine noise comes out of the center channel which doesn’t exist in a stereo setup.

How do you change that?

Could be, but I'm using a headset and have done so for the 1000+ hours i played before this patch..haven't been an issue up till now. I mean launched the game jumped into a game and the problem was there. I didn't change any options. Also just checked the virtual surround settings just to be sure and it's turned off.
I'm in the exact same situation! About 2 weeks ago my game started doing the same thing. It's so unsatisfying. Can't seem to find a way to fix it.
Still not fixed? im having this issue right now..

This happened to me when my computer was set to surround sound. Changed it to stereo and it fixed the problem.

Well... Thats the issue.. I have a surround sound set up (virtual surround sadly, not true surround) and, in the windows menu for testing it, and the dolby atmos tests, it works just fine, but in rocket league, the boosting and flipping/jumping mechanic just sound muffled, and the goal explosions absolutely destroy my ears.
