steam version high input lag
this is because a setting that causes no further input lag on the epic version, for some odd reason adds another layer of input lag on the steam version.

Locate: Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Config\TASystemSettings.ini

--------> set OneFrameThreadLag=False for better input, but you'll get lower frame rate

just try it out for yourself and see how it impacts your game.

Try what exactly? Delete the ini file, change something in it? I don't get what the fix is.

Disabling this will tank FPS. But helps with mouse input.

Remember someone on Twitter suggesting this to FreaKii before and it did nothing. Which was years ago.

this helped me a lot. now I can finally play the game with msaa and 4k at 60fps with virtually no lag.

locking fps at 60 is bad for input lag, the more fps you can deliver the less input lag you got, so i dont see the point to that 'fix' if you are adding yourself an input lag?

the game was barely playable even at uncapped 1080p. without steam overlay, input and turning on nvidia latency to ultra. it felt like steering a tank. only game that had this issue. I play regularly apex with friends on console, using a bluetooth connected ps4 controller with ds4windows and I barely notice any difference between wired and wireless.

by disabling that option I can now play it at any framerate I like without the extra input lag.
honestly I never understood people who needed "fast" screens that sacrifice color volume, contrast and accuracy just so they can play a game at higher refreshrate. it's not going to magically put you in the top 1% but then again people desperately look for shortcuts.

I gave this a shot because I noticed the game is inconsistent feeling a lot of times. I *think* I notice a difference now? I still get 165 fps (my monitor refresh rate) so it didn't hit my performance at all but I guess if it's placebo at least it's not hurting me.

I keep wondering if i should just play on the epic launcher as a main instead.

who talked about top players? just saying locking your fps to 60 gives you higher input lag... its a fact, believe it or not, its not my problem.

btw high refresh monitors do not sacrifice anything, unless you buy it from lidl

yea...for some reason mine was on recommended (59). i changed it to uncapped and a lot of the stuttering went away

"not every hero wears a cape" Thanks a lot dude, it worked like a charm. If anyone wondering its placebo or not, it is not. I remember we had this option back in Unreal Tournament 3 too.

After messing around with things more, it got me curious and I started playing my epic account more and I've realized I get wayyyy less input lag on the epic version. I lost 8 games in a row of 1v1's on steam at plat 2.

On my epic version I won 13 out of 15 games and went into D2 for the first time ever in 1v1's. I know some people like to gaslight and say it's placebo, but idk how you argue with those results...this happened on the same day as each other with the only difference being platform played on. Same controller, same PC, same settings, different platform.

On steam it's very hard to make a sharp turn with handbrake..turn radius feels WIDE. On epic, I was back to making turns my brain kept telling me to go for. IDK what the hell is going on, but it's clearly working better for me.

I don't think this is a fix for everyone, as clearly a lot of people are very high ranks and would notice if their inputs were affected this bad. Maybe it's my PS5 wireless controller on steam that is the issue, maybe it's something else. But if you're having issues with the game feeling off, give the epic version or vice versa and see if it solves anything
