I will note that I'm only using a 6600XT and AA in the distance leaves a bit to be desired, but there may be a setting I've missed, I'm constantly trying to adjust.
Long story short, what your trying should work, I'd probably try reinstalling the driver if settings are not sticking.
Also I guess you didn't notice that the advanced settings (mostly) including AA only apply to DX9.
Edit: I've fixed it though I still haven't the slightest idea what was wrong. After launching the game FROM RADEON SOFTWARE and enabling RIS from the in game overlay the settings switches stay on.
Unfortunately the only option with RL is to use FXAA or SMAA (use SMAA) and then use some sharpening to counter the blurring. It's not the greatest but it's better than nothing and I'd rather that than TAA/TXAA. It was possible to force supersampling when the game was running on DX9 but that was quite a while ago now. I've not noticed any areas that look like AA isn't being applied, but then I'm not looking too hard. If you don't have any of the AA options in-game applied then you aren't changing anything as the Radeon Software advanced settings will only apply to DirectX 9.
(Unrelated, this game still doesn't have proper anisotropic filtering either, if any. Ridiculous...)
Reshade...
have fun.
