banned from matchmaking for getting disconnected

Was playing ranked mode and my internet died for about 10 mins, when it came back i was banned from matchmaking for 30 mins. why? i dont think i should be banned because my internet died, and i lost a division.

They can't keep track of whether your internet died or if you intentionally shut it off to avoid the loss. If they implemented it then people would just shut off their internet when they are down by a lot.

I was in a competitive match and all the time i had internet connection but i still got timed out of the match and when i pressed rejoin it didn't let me. It said connection timed out. Yet all that time i had internet connection.

I've had this same thing happen several times now. Their server has an issue and multiple people lag out and then the server forfits the game and when you try to rejoin it's gone and you get a ban. Super frustrating.

The same sh**t just happened to me right now. I was playing competitive match and suddenly i was timed out but still having internet connection. Trying to reconnect but still saying the server timed out message. Got banned for don't know hoy many minutes cause only saids banned for "penalty minutes" and probably lost division as well. That's a problem with their servers and it's not fair at all that we get punished like this for something we didn't do. I hope they fix this ASAP.

Because you screwed over your teammate(s). It doesn't matter whether you did it on purpose. IT isn't about you, it's about the team as a whole.

yah it is happening a lot, im banned right now for 15 minutes..... and got demoted as well. Internet is just fine.

This has been occurring with several players and clearly shows Psyonix's lack of knowledge when it comes to maintaining a stable and functional server. This company is full of amateurs and completely irresponsible. Their irresponsibility has resulted in a turn of their focus towards mostly cosmetics when they should be divulging more of their effort into maintaining, monitoring, and stabilizing their servers. They've even poured so much more money into these RLCS events than they make back from them. Having the seasons change and the RLCS occur every three monthes to me seems like a move that was not thought through all that much since it appears that Psyonix is over-confident in the amount of money they believe they should be making and thus resulting in a lack of upgraded servers and actual game content (cosmetics don't necessarily count towards actual content). The RLCS is a great way of interacting with the community, but not necessarily good for business if you lose money everytime you host these events. Also with the recent leaks, it clearly shows Psyonix have completely poured their attentions into cosmetics which isn't a 'sure fire way' of keeping a game running. If anyone is gonna say "they make enough money", then how come they've been so relectunt on server maintenence and upgrading? ..and don't say "it's my internet" because I know for a fact it isn't and I have been monitoring it for any abnormalities that may occur to which, they haven't.

Weird I've only been disconnected 2 or 3 times during my entire 1600ish hours of play.

Barring times when they've had widespread outages I've never had an issue. It sounds like your internet is bad and you just don't have a basic understanding of networking nor server management. I'm sure the professional game developers know a little more than you. Run along kiddo

I know that their is nothing wrong with my internet. I've been constantly monitoring it and nothing has come up that would cause me any issues. I already know it's all caused by the Psyonix servers and its been made clear that they need to make some changes. Extra Extra, two little kids(12 year olds) need to learn a thing or two about conversations before sounding completely retarded. Also fact is, Psyonix just sucks as a company, better start accepting that as the truth.

There's something wrong with your Internet. I play on the SAME servers, and the last time I had a problem that could possibly be server-related was three months ago. You're the one who needs to learn a thing or two (actually, learning ONE would be sufficient) before sounding completely retarded.

pisstake its still happening, just started winning games again then it disconnects from rocket league servers and i still have internet connection, then i cant rejoin game and recieve a matchmaking ban
