Are lag hacks a thing now?
I've started to notice several players with very convenient ping spikes, always right when they'd need it the most. Is this a known issue?

I've seen what you describe increasing since they removed the possibility of reporting cheats, but it must be only a coincidence because everybody says it's impossible to cheat in Rocket League.

Unless the person doing the lag-switching knows the IP address of the person they want to lag switch. No.

Also - If someone is playing in Fullscreen, tabbing out will cause their ping to turn red/orange. This will also happen if someone uses a program to lower a games FPS when it's not in the foreground.

DDoS attacks exists, is really common to see players do when they need it

its not common to see ddosers. ddossing is actually illegal at a federal level. Most kids don't have access to it.

its not so much ddosing but getting next to the ball and using a switcher to skyrocket their ping, i see it over and over again. they come in at 120-140 ping and if anything critical is about to happen the ball borks and sure enough the players ping is hitting 200+ with packet loss in the spike and then going back down. only seems to affect other players when they, and the ball, are in close prox with the switcher.

...bruh where tf have you been the past few years, under a rock? People and yes kids ddos all the time in a bunch of games. Either you're actually clueless to this or just playing stupid.

I just started noticing something like this happening today. I was not sure if it had to do with the connection or the game, but I have been getting these crazy stutters at seeming random, yet convenient times.

You're fantasizing if you think the majority of players DDos. if anything it's still the minority. If you chock your bad games to "lag hacks" you have alot to learn.

If you have lag issues they are at their worst the closer you are to the ball and other players. People far away from the action may appear to be fine but then lag spikes occur when they are closer to the ball, which could appear like its intentional.

A simple google and you can hire one lol Haha it's easier then getting a piece of candy.
been happening to me alot. I've never had an issue but it seems in every couple games I just get huge lag spikes whenever I'm making a huge clear or shot on goal

RL servers are relatively garbage, that being said, if you're getting huge lagspikes you need to check with your ISP. As well as check local ping, packet loss, latency, and overall general function of your hardware. I've played this game for 3 years and have averaged 50-100ping over my playtime server dependent. If i had lag spikes, 99% of the time it was on my end, not some mystical DDosser that people think is common, which its not.
