FIFA producer Aaron McHardy
You guys only make me laugh (but sadden me inside) when the only way you can respond to "sinister activities in marketing" is by callin in tin foil hats, conspiracy theories and stuff.
I hope you do realize that you cannot see the truth.
With your logic, not even 700 people can speak about the game. because 0.04% of players are above gc. Why am I even spending my time with you.
The only streamer road to ssl i have ever watched was Leths, and he did 99% of it solo queing and went on a massive win streak till he teamed up with jon sandman and got his first loss so that throws that theory out the window.
Yes you can rig competitive video games, but i would suspect that fifa like rocket league is just putting you against easier opponents when you lose as a function of the mmr system. If you use bakesmod you can watch the mmr of yourself and the players around you and that is very clearly how you are matched, now we can debate the finer points of boosting and smurfing that manipulate the mmr but that is on the player side not psyonix side and psyonix does not like boosting/smurfing and have punished people for it in the past.
Epic has done nothing massive to change the game since they took it over, the first real change has been a slow rebalancing of the ranks since it went ftp which was needed to deal with the influx of new players first they expanded the ranks, and this season they have made small adjustments to the mmr requirements of the higher ranks to help increase the number of people in those ranks so there would be games to be had.
If this game was rigged to force a 50% win ratio everyone would be in the same rank. Just think on that for a bit.
If you are really interested in the topic read up on " EOMM: An Engagement Optimized MatchmakingFramework " google will show you the paper about it. if you read it carefully you will realize that the loosing streaks and long winning streaks go against what keeps most players playing. i take this as a very strong hint that rl does not aply these methodes.
also the fact that you have to go over a higher mmr treshold to change from one rank to the next might give you the impression that the game makes it harder to rank up when aproaching a new rank. but this is only visual. use bakkes mod and look at the mmr and you will see there is no difference.
so same advice as with most cospiracies. GET PROPPERLY INFORMED FIRST. then make assumptions
I think the mmr is not the only stat they aquire from us, to determine our actual skill level. mmr is what they use for match making. I think the algorythm uses other statistics aquired that really shows them how good/bad a player is.
For example, how many mvp, how many goals vs matches played and in what kind of match, if it was 1s, 2s or 3s. It takes quite many math formulas and take account of many factors, but once you have the formula you can easily and instatly see how good a player REALLY is, with stats.
mmr doesnt really show you the skill, because you will agree that there can be X (1700mr) vs Y (1700mr) and X will win 10 matches out of 10, 5 - 0 at least. That's because ranks are so messed up!!
This leads to the fact that the algorythm can decide , or at least, strongly force the % of the outcome of a match before even starting it.
About Lethamyr road to.... well man, he's one of the best players in the world, I don't think that counts to be honest ^^
It does regardless of his skill as it relates to your original premise. Even he would be ata 50/50 win loss ratio if the game was forcing it unless he is playing a completely different version of the game then the rest of the world. The fact that the best players rise to the top runs completely counter to your entire argument.
answer is no
Nothing is countering my logic here, since game manipulations are subtle, they dont have enough strength to counter the supreme skills that top world players have. It's not difficult to understand, isnt' it?
