Weird issues with connection
Hi,

for a few days I somehow can't play Rocket League as usual. In every second or third match I'm playing, my ping is constantly between 140 and 150, it doesn't rise or fall. In the other matches my ping is constantly between 12 and 24.

I already followed an official troubleshooting guide ( https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054169594-Connection-Troubleshooting-on-PC ), but it didn't help. I also already reinstalled Rocket League, unfortunately it didn't help as well.

How can I fix this?

I do not know if it will help a bit but these were odd solutions for some connection issues.

So, for everyone having the same problem, i found a weird fix. You have to disable energy efficient ethernet and green ethernet. I was 30 ping now 17-19 and now i dont suffer from stutters and rubberbanding anymore ! :winter2019coolyul:

Testing your connection at least with ping/tracert command :

I needed to do this today because I was lagging.

The bottom image shows my internet was all over the place, with times ranging from 35ms to 144ms. The game was lagging bad. I reset my powerline adapter and it returned to normal as shown in the top image.

If you see a wide difference between min and max times, that means it's on your end because it's unlikely both Google and Rocket League would both have server issues at the same time.

As for getting high ping on your region's servers, my friend had that issue. We took the IP of the server he was last on and performed a traceroute on it. The connection to the game server isn't direct. It must be relayed through a dozen or so other nodes along the way. Traceroute will show each node and the latency from each node. Turns out there was one node along the way that had an issue and added a large amount of latency. Because the node was between him and the game server and was owned by some unknown Internet company, there was nothing we or Psyonix could do to fix it. It took months before that route was fixed.

Its not you, well, it might be you, but it's not you.

the servers are really bad atm. have been for a while now.

Sure we've all got online traffic to content with, and the internet in general is pretty busy atm, but the tick rate of the servers is pretty bad in general.

It's a bit of a laggy, toxic hot sticky mess atm, and it's not very nice.

Thats not really true at all, the problem is called routing.
Between your Homenetwork and the servers are tons of Routing Points, when they are overtax, then you do have exactly this issues, when not every game you play is laggy.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

No way, did you have it enabled?
I think I'm gonna to pin it in Bug reporting section as I kinda promised to Shiro on forums.

No problem :praisesun:

Umm.. If I recall correctly, you didn't promise me anything, and I was simply acting like a drama queen.

I've decided to no longer complain, and do something about my mind, and accept the fact, the Servers are simply gonna be the way they are, unless they get updated.
Sure, the connection will be bad at some cases, but that's not gonna be the end of the World for me, and I'm certain, I can have fun even with some small latency issues on the way.
Afterall, if I simply accept, it was my mistake, but that the mistake has occured only due to the Server being too pressured and busy, I will be able to avoid having a bad mood.

I do strongly believe, with F2P, more players have decided to play RL, which has resulted in a lowered or worse performance, regarding the Servers.
At least, that's the speculation I was having back then, as well as it is the conclusion we've come to with Pigeon.

Yeah, it was kinda "not gonna happen" situation especially with that guy in other post using Wifi. But I'll think about it - it's not hard to check that option.

As i wrote in some posts I had personally issues with Packet Loss and with searching match , and other outside game issues and it was solved as last resort mainly by changing ISP with optic fibre.

I don't play too often recently so can't judge others having bad experience with servers playing daily and few hours more.

I am triggered mainly if there is no info about server region provided (like if you should assume that country in Steam profile is always real) or if there's not at least some constructive criticism.
I wouldn't argue about servers if there would be screenshot - possibly censored with all (most of) players having issues.

By the way WRLD, there must be space between link otherwise it will show as "malicious" for Steam.
