This is a joke. I can't get the hang of playing even after having played it a lot off and on. I keep getting grouped with players and teams that are far superior in skill. I'll never be that good at this game, but I'd at least like to be an asset to my random team and not be totally useless. It's really frustrating, not to mention the comments I have received from some players that are toxic and abusive. Not everyone is going to have godlike skill levels. Yes, I have practiced on the tutorials, and I suck at those too. I've fiddled with my controller setting and that hasn't helped either. I've considered just deleting Rocket League and move on to something else. I don't get much enjoyment from something that is becoming less and less fun to play.

get a friend and do private 1v1 together. or if you got more friends 2v2. best way to learn now because match making is bad and everyone has alts since free to play. And its a toxic game now so get used to people being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Unfortunately the match-making has been like this for years. And that is not even an exaggeration.
Most of the matches I play are pretty one-sided. Either our team gets absolutely stomped on, or our team absolutely destroys the other team.
But there's also huge skill gaps within the team. Sometimes I have two or three times the points of my other two teammates combined, and other times I'm the weak link in the team.

The fact that the "community" is toxic beyond belief also shows that the whole timeout/banning system doesn't work at all. But that's not even the main issue because you can at least completely disable voice chat and text chat and only allow quick chat.

But the fact that the match-making is so horrendous, even after YEARS, seriously drives me away from this game. Literally every time I play it I'm in a worse mood than before.

If you want to enjoy your time, my only advise is to turn your back on RL and find some other game, because it's pretty obvious by now that the match-making will NEVER be fixed.

Let me tell you this now there is no half decent matchmaking in this game. Everything from silver to low diamond is one and the same more or less. You can find diamond mechanic players in low gold and silver and the other way around. Its a mess and f2p made it 10x worse.

ever though of becoming a KBM player ?. i started that way, and time to time i try to use controller and i go from a plat player to a wood chipper, i just cant do it......yet..... lol.

The system is fubar and its not getting fixed, the Developers seem to only add in things that makes them profit......they tend not to care about the balancing until it messes with their bottom line.

i already know all that, i was talking to the guy about trying mouse and keyboard instead of controller. i know the company is useless and they care only about profit, and i know steam only keeps these threads for rocket and the game still playable on their platform because they still make money off of season passes and other things, otherwise steam aka valve would have nothing to do with the game period.

I feel you. That happens a lot. My advice would be: Look out for a friendly Rocket League community with lots of casual players. Playing with randoms is not very enjoyable.

Matchmaking can never be good as long as their are parties in the game but they can't remove parties from the game or they will lose a lot of players and ruin the game, so I don't see any improvements being made in this. Even if the matchmaking was extremely precise after players had played many dozens of matches and the matchmaker could put you with people identical to your skill level, those matchmaking ranks become inaccurate as soon as you put two players that don't have the same MMR in a party. One of them lifts the other up or lowers the other down then both their MMRs are inaccurate again.

it doesnt make alot of people happy the way the game state is in, we all know ALOT of people are cheaters and boost or get boosted and thats NOT going to change. losers who want to cheat will always find a way to cheat and if they cant, they just dont play the game. we all know the companies are too cheep and lazy to fully implement an good anti cheat system, so i guess we either keep playing or bury the pile of crap this game has become lmfao.

Well, what would you suggest Psyonix does to help prevent boosting and 'cheating'? What would you do to fix the matchmaking? Psyonix is always open for feedback and suggestions.

People have already come up with plenty of ways to fix these issues. Give us the ability to not get matched with pre mades just like how we can with crossplay, limit the rank gap allowed within 2 man parties going into 3's, actually punish those who boost, etc

I know I'm going to receive a lot of hate but if you are between bronze-c3... you probably deserve your place.
I know your mates are not on your lvl but that's the point. now hear me out. the system works like this:
- whenever you become so consistent that you become capable of carrying your mates, you will move to the next rank.
- same process repeats until you hit GC and it becomes an annoying grind to rank up.

people have been making suggestions for YEARS, psyonix doesnt care, if they did they wouldnt have a lame bot answering tickets, it would be pure man power, not a lame AI. also alot of problems would have been solved long ago, but as i have stated before if it doesnt hit their pockets that badly they dont care, IE they knew the player base was going to increase drastically going free to play, did they upgrade servers no, did they get more servers no, they had to actually disable trading due to the sheer overload on their servers, that to me is a clear indication things are so poorly managed. also if they did care i wouldnt be seeing as much racist club names or player names or seeing that crap in chat, but i do, so whats the point ? there isnt, the only way to get them to listen is for people to say enough is enough and stop spending money.

Psyonix has literally done all of these things already in the past.

We had solo threes which only allowed you to solo queue matchmaking, and it was removed because it was dead and the community kept giving negative feedback about it.

Psyonix used to have rank gap restrictions as well and guess what, everybody started whining about how they couldn't play with their friends and how the devs suck, game sucks, community sucks. So they removed the restrictions after listening to community feedback, and now it's come full circle.

And players that were caught boosting were punished when their season rewards were not given and if I recall correctly their ranks were nerfed as well.

Psyonix releases game, people complain, psyonix makes changes to game based on suggestions, people complain. Psyonix makes changes again based off community feedback, people complain. No matter what they do the community will find something to complain about.

90% of the time network related issues within rocket league are on the user-end and the user's internet provider and plan. Nobody even bothers to do the ping tests to see where the issue lies, because they're either too lazy or don't know how, and thus blame it on Psyonix's servers. Do the tests, upload your results, and then you can complain
