Why do people refuse to FF?
If it's like 0 to 5 and there is 30 seconds left, JUST FF. There is zero point in finishing the match. Not sure if its stubborn little kids doing this or trolls.

For challenges and XP, I guess

maybe they just want to play, maybe they think it effects their rank less

To each their own, they could be trying to get an achievement or points like Toupou said. They could also just be good sport and play it out. I don't really forfeit and especially if the guy on my team isn't playing well or being an ass I use the time as practice to improve against a better team and it's low key punishment for the team mate for being a bad sport, if they want to rage quit and take the 5 min penalty then I feel like i saved the next person in line to have to play with the guy.

The game is 5 minutes long if you already played 4:30 you might as well finish up and be a good sport. However hey if they agree to forfeit then cool but if not play it out and don't complain. If you want to avoid it then get a teammate those are the 3 options. Anything else makes you the troll

Because they're passive aggressive and want to annoy you by wasting time.

I do it because I just enjoy the game, not to mention it obviously pisses people like you off, so thanks for validating my tactic :)
You know, most of the times I get destroyed I can learn a lot from it, so I actually enjoy until the end the free training from players on a good day or beasts whatever is happening xD

Winners never quit. Quitters never win.

Some people get their panties in a bunch about losing a match in Rocket League I guess. You're going to lose about half your matches unless you are the top #1 player, which you'll never even sniff. Why not just enjoy the GAME regardless of the final score?
On top of that, you run the opportunity of having a sweet comeback, sure they're rare but they sure are nice when it happens. My favorite so far is being down 5 to 0 with about 1:20 left, we score 6 unanswered goals to win the match. The other two wanted to FF and I didn't which I pointed out as we all celebrated at the scoreboard screen. :btd6thumbsup:

I don't ff every, since i use to play for fun, not for the adiction. Man y'all need help

I don't ff because:

- I just like playing, win or lose
- Might as well finish the game if there's 30 seconds left on the clock
- Forfeiting with 2 minutes or more on the clock ruins any chance of a comeback
- Free training: If someone is kicking my butt, I want to figure out how they're doing it and how I can counter it
- More free training: If we're losing because of a bad mate, I want to learn how to compensate for that
- More free training; Sometimes I'm playing too fast for my mates, or too slow. It's good to learn how to adapt to other people's play style

If you want to forfeit early after being one or two points down, you're basically giving up and sabotaging your team. And you lose my respect in the process (doesn't matter much, but it's true).

When you start a game, you commit to 5+ minutes of play. Don't let your mates down.

Because they are not trying to grind. So they have absolutely no clue why moving on to a match you can actually win is more important than some misplaced sense of virtue they don't actually possess. (Or toxic wankery)

If I'm losing, but the game is balanced. My teammates are keeping up with position and pacing, and the game is good, I generally won't quit either. And interestingly enough, rarely do I get FF requests from any teammates in those games.

---

The times when FF is most apt, is when you have severely under-performing teammates, or bad team synergy in general, and nothing seems to be getting better as the game progresses. (Those are the things for unranked practice to train for, not ranked)

*Sometimes, you are the severely under-performing teammate, and it is your role to bow your head when your teammates are requesting a FF. If you're way below the game pace, and always out of position, staying in the game is a literal waste of everybody's time. If you suck, listen to your betters, and tell your own ego to take a piss!

---

That all being said,
Requesting FF in the first 30 seconds at the first goal is dumb as hell!!!! Synergy sometimes doesn't come until the second half of the game. Sometimes play styles are different enough that the adaptability takes longer for your team, but when it clicks, you wreck your opponents.

I tend to look at a 30 seconds needed per goal, so if we're behind by 3 goals at the 1 minute mark, it's time to FF. (This is subjective, but you know when your not gonna make that back, it's very obvious) That same calculus should be used throughout, if it's 2 minutes left, and you're down by more than 4 goals.... [it shouldn't even need to be said, but uhhhhmm, Forfeit!!!!]

---

Who wants to actually play with teammates who aren't interested in playing with them anymore?!? (Wanna define the term toxic? Yeah, That's you!)

Lastly, I would point out that slogging through a toxic garbage match from hell, is an amazing way to kill all your momentum, ruin your attitude, and otherwise make continued play and further matchmaking worthless. (I tend to take a 15 minute penalty, get a drink and a snack, have a sit down, and then come back after my time-out. You can piss-off if you think I'm gonna stay for that crap!) *I got better things to do!

Imagine paying lots of money to watch a sport and the other team forfeits ten minutes into the match.

I bring every game to the end. Even the bad ones.

If players refuse to ff a lost match, i just leave.....there is no point in playing a match that is already lost, its illogical.....wasting the time remaining on a futile endeavour...is a illogical.
