I said and I will keep saying it, if they really want to prevent smurfing, there is only one way and that is "it doesn't matter how many times you have lose, you shouldn't drop down in ranks". So there should be only one way in rankings, which is UP!

This would also prevent "GC carrying bronze friend to diamond ranks" issue.

Let me guess. You see guys with GC Season X in your diamond games. Many former GCs are only as good for high-diamond now.

As the game ages, the average skill pool increases and so does the skill requirement for each rank. Players will reach their max potential, their skill ceiling... can't improve much further. Each season they will rank lower and become frustrated and confused why their opponents are getting more difficult.

Which doesn't actually work because a GC with a bronze will be matched against GCs. The matchmaking finds opponents near the rank of the highest ranking player. The mismatched team will be at a disadvantage and will lose more MMR than they gain. Boosting only works when there is smurfing involved.

No i simply meet people with epic accounts who are far better than any diamond player ive ever met and then the guy they are teamed up with can barely reach 100 points because they are clearly not diamonds

I met a player today who could fly all the way to the cages and into my goal with the ball, barely touching the ground to collect boost at full speed... all the while doing air tricks for fun!

While I was impressed... as a barely ranked player what am I supposed to learn from that kind of obvious world-class smurf? Smurfing in an online game with such a high skill ceiling is about as much an issue as cheating. Most people would simply give up on the game and leave.

You have to know, every single one here who is arumenting with "learn from them" are Smurfs and try to defend their shady playstile. All those Poples do is, deranking on purpose to bully others in lower ranks.
Psy will never get rid of those peoples, it is a problem since RL was released, just now with gettin F2P, the ammount of Smurfs exploded, since you can create infinite Accounts.
We have to deal with that or just stop playing the game.
Beside of that, Servers feel like if they are on moon.

some players are a bit more skilled than their rank, but they're stuck there for whatever reasons (i.e. little time to play, no friends to play with on a regular basis, anything really) .
ive seen golds in the lowest div calling smurf other golds who just were 1-2 div above.
smurfing is indeed a problem in RL, but i feel sometimes people feel better calling other a smurf rather than accepting that the other guy just played better or was simply trying harder than them, or was on a lucky streak. or who knows.
i mean ive been called a smurf by other low ranks and i made gold my house since 2018.
