why do people get so mad at what a save
Playing with my friend in comp 3's (im c2, friend is d3 - he is way better than me but only plays 2's, he only plays 3's with me), us and 1 random
This guy back flips instead of front flips and misses a fairly easy save (it was literally a straight shot to the middle of the goal from halfway line)
My friend says what a save once
This guy says to not be toxic and afk's the entire game
??????
apparently its our fault for being toxic lmao
anyway we my and my friend decided to get the game to overtime then just afk kek (we lost)
so in conclusion, why do people get so mad at the big 3 words in rl?
edit: grammar stuffs

How was what a save used in that circumstance in any way a good and helpful thing to do. Frankly you told your teammate their mistake means they are a lousy player and demotivated them from trying. While i dont agree with them afking the rest of the game, if your friend had not sarcastically used what a save the outcome of the game may have been different.

well if they are missing the easiest of save opportunities then congrats...it means they aent very good. Also theres a lot of players who are just straght up clueless as to how or what they're supposed to do...getting occasional feedback whether its positive or negative isnt reason enough to ruin the rest f the match. Nor is it something to cry about and label as "toxic", when trash talk has always been a part of competitive environments. Literally always....its called dont be so sensitive to where a few words on a screen trigger you

I think it's fair to say your team mate knew he just trashed an easy save. Doesn't need the team to beat down on him, he's probably already banging fists on the desk. When I play, sometimes I trash easy saves, miss open goals.. it's Rocket League. I definitely know when I mess up, and genuinely don't need my own team mates to amplify that already torturing failure.

Not gonna lie, using what a save isn't toxic in certain circumstances, when your FRIEND whiffs, someone saves something in a great way. Other than that using it to be sarcastic with a teammate even if they didn't know they messed up is just talking ♥♥♥♥, in the real world, you don't get to talk ♥♥♥♥ with people you don't know, and if you do that's provocation or harassment in the workforce which for any reason is unacceptable. It'd be like going to work and telling your a new worker "You're a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot" and expect them to laugh about it, do you know them? Do they know you? Do they understand the kind of person you are or the jokes you find amusing? Do they have any reason to not take what you're saying as being rude?
No they don't, reasoning for that is because they don't know you, nor are you friends by any means, from the sounds of it y'all didn't have a fun time messing around during your one match together and didn't bond in any way, so it's toxic and not a joke.

i saw through your facade in using your victim card.
>go into 3v3s with party up 2s and 1 random
>using what a save when the teammate didnt use what a save
>go afk in the match
>in c2 lobbies with a d3 player (120 mmr difference)

you are not the only person in the wrong

Everyone misses easy saves, no one is 100% perfect 100% of the time.

Occasional feed back is a good thing, however saying what a save to a missed save is not real feedback, you know it as well as everyone else, thats just a team mate being a jerk to another random team mate.
Trash talk as you put it is not and never has been always a part of competitive environments, it does seem that the anonymity of the internet has increased the volume of trash talk though.

I am in no way defending the reaction the random team mate had to the what a save, just pointing out that he would not have had that reaction if the person who hit him with the sarcastic what a save said no problem instead. Within RL i have noticed how much more people push themselves to do better when i tell them no problem when they make a mistake as opposed to when another teammate hits them with what a save, and i solo que alot.

It isn't toxic at all.

People who throw a fit and then the game over a quick chat 3 worded phrase and scream "TOXIC!!" are honestly the most pathetic individuals in the game. They are hypocrites and often ones who can't take any form of criticism what so ever over their own poor play.

Their responses prove them to be far more "Toxic" than any "What a save!" can hope to be.

It is real feedback, feedback doesnt mean its always helpful. Feedback is simply how people respond during certain situations, whether that be sports or gaming. People respond to whats happening in front of them....thats why sarcasm and instances of trash talk is common place in these environments and literally everyone at some point does it. Bruh thats something humans in general do. But in no way is that toxic, people are perfectly allowed to react and use sarcasm.

What you call "being a jerk" is simply you not being able to handle sarcastic remarks at your expense. EVERYONE gets teased in some way, shape, or form when in some form of competitive environment. Hell thats literally comedy in a nutshell, even worse is "what a save" isnt even insulting or derogatory. Fyi its not actually a good thing to be so reactionary to the point a 3 word sarcastic comment seems toxic or offends you.

"Trash talk as you put it is not and never has been always a part of competitive environments"??? Really...do you actually think this? You've clearly never been inside a locker room ever in your life, or played sports of any kinds outside with other guys. I genuinely dont understand how you could genuinely think trash talk, sarcasm, or any of the sort hasnt always been in sports because it has. (let alone gaming)

most people who do ' what a save ' 500 times , especially when its all 3 people in a party ' are annoying in general- i had a team that was doing that cause they had 3 and we had 2, our guy left comp hockey so we're short 1 man, so everytime they scored they wouldgo WHAT A SAVE- finally told them how impressive it was to win at 2 on 3, so the clown called me trash, so i told the clown he lives at home and works at burger king LOL, its probably true though, your life is pretty meaningless when you take this game 3 notches over ' serious '

Did you leave off the part where you guys did WOW!!! 30 times before what a save?

In 3s with two people queued together and me on their team, has been when I have met the most assinine toxic children, by far.

I can assume with a high level of certainty this is you and your friend, especially if this dude took a loss to not play with you...
