Over an hour to update a 1.4GB patch?

What is low about it? Don't think you understand how some updates work for games.

A 8 MB patch for a game can take an hour to do depending on what was updated. It's really all down to your Hard drive speed and Processor. If the update is completely new and adds new files. It'll usually be done in the time it takes for your download speed to retrieve it. If it is updating an already existing file. It will have to download it and then run file integrity checks on it. Which is what makes it take so long. You can tell when this happening because your download speed will be stopped and Disk usage will be pretty much maxed out - along with higher CPU usage.

So many silly assumptions. Hard line internet connection that is off the chart high end download speeds. SSD hard drive fully optimized. Usually updates are done in seconds or at most a couple minutes. That is why I posted, this is an anomaly.
