Epic Games ruined Rocket League - The new Fortnite to scam children

Seriously, Rocket League has become worse and worse, since Epic Games bought it. The community (which was already toxic) is more toxic than ever, you can't play two rounds in a row without being insulted. And what do they do against it? Nothing. You get banned for a couple of hours or nothing happens. And let's be honest: who cares? They create new FREE accounts and keep on going that way. And Epic Games supports this behavior by not doing anything useful against them.

Furthermore, there are more smurfs, as the game got free.

The DLCs are clearly overprized and a pure scam. I know that it is optional to buy them. I personally don't buy them. But it's nevertheless intolerable, in my opinion.

The blueprints market is completely broken in favour of Epic Games, to stop trading and increase the sales on credits spent on blueprints.

It's really interesting to see what happened to the game. It feels like the new Fortnite. Ripping kid's money out of their pockets, taking morally questionable decisions and focussing entirely on profit, while not caring at all about the community. Honestly, Epic Games is the worst. And this is the reason I prefer paying for games on Steam than getting them for free from Epic Games. I won’t support such an exploiting concern. Shame on everyone who works for Epic Games. Keep trying to get players on your platform by gifting weekly games. You won’t get me with that cheap trick. Their pathetic platform doesn’t even have a chat function. Great gaming platform, being unable to chat with friends. And it’s not new. They simply don’t care about their “community”. All they want is profit.

Thank you very much! I appreciate it. I am seriously glad to see how many people agree. I thought I might be the only one noticing all the negative changements, but apparently I ain't alone.

Nevertheless it is interesting how some minorities still defend the game/Epic Games, even though a couple of them were Rocket League mods... So yeah, I don't know if that really counts.

Psyonix just should have let epic games buy rocket league. I don't know how that works, but they just made the game worse. people can try to convince me that they made it better, or kept it the same, but i will still think they made it worse

i agree with this Alucard fellow here- its bs...the # of toxic teams AND that includes your own fellow team is a joke now a days....anyone saying ' this game is the same as it was 5 years ago ' is mistaken badly

There's a reason why many of us EST. 2015/16 players, content creators, pros, etc. are *extremely* unhappy with what this game has turned into. Well said.

Let's also mention how bad the servers have gotten. F2P gave us an influx of players but the servers are the same and can't handle it as well. I lag, as well as my friends, in 80% of matches to a point where the game is unplayable. And no, its not the internet we have because we can play literally any other game with no lag issues. But do we fix the servers? NO! We add MORE microtransactions at 3x the price they were. Like you said it's all a cash grab and quite frankly Epic doesn't care because all the F2P players outnumber the OG players that actually care about this game.

They also adjust the MMR between seasons so much that ranked is a sh*tshow. From S14 to S1 MMR was adjusted by ~100-200 because of the addition of SSL. Then S1-S2 there was another 100 or so MMR adjustment which makes ranked not fun to be honest.

Rocket League used to be my favorite game. Now it's hard to even want to play and when I do it's only for a couple games.

Yeah same here. My friends and I had to experience the same issue with the servers. They exploit the players and aren't even willing to spend money on good servers. Holy ****. Unbelievable.

I feel you. I agree with everything you said. I also stopped playing. Bad servers, overpopulation of players, bad ranking systems and fluctuations, toxic mates and opponents, smurfs everywhere, etc. The game got so bad, I could write a whole book about this topic. Cash grabbing Epic Games ruined it. And everytime I occasionally play a round or two, I understand why I decided to quit Rocket League... Trash game.
