Scammed by accepting group invite?
I accepted a group invite and it automatically invited like my whole Flist, now i noticed at least all my keys and Heatwave is gone. I'm kinda blown, how does that happen as i have steamguard activated. What the actual ♥♥♥♥

Was this group, i think i fkd up tho. There was that "event giveaway" popping up and it wanted me to log in with steam again, i think i saw the https at the start so i logged in and that way they got my log in. But i thought I'd be safe in any case with steamguard so i didnt bother with it. But it makes sense now, that way they invited my flist and scammed me. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tho, steamguard is useless i guess

Steamguard has nothing to do with RL items I suppose if this kind of things happened. You guys just need to be careful and not get baited by easy items

Steam Guard only protects your Steam inventory. Since Rocket League isn't connected to your Steam inventory, it's not protected. Even then, they'll get the code anyways.

These aren't Psyonix's forums, Valve doesn't give the mods the right tools and rights to clean it up :P

Yeah in RL scamming is so easy. But clicking links that aren't real steam accounts don't. And even be careful with those 'real' people. Got scammed aswel. But thx for the advice I left the group. I just earned 500 keys they said. Didn't trust it then I saw this. Sorry for you man.

There was a giveaway done after all, so this can’t really be called a scam.
At least now when a stranger asks for your house keys saying that you might win a refrigerator, you’ll know better.

My friend's whole steam account was hacked and stolen last week from joining one of these groups
Well its sucks but learn from your lesson dont click any links ever

It could be so easy to protect the rocket league community but they still doesn't care. Yes it is peoples fault that they get scammed, they are to greedy and give away their account infos without thinking about.

Still, if Psyonix would add a security code like the steam guard for example, you lock your inventory and everything is not tradeable until you enter the secuity code to unlock your inventory and when you are done trading you just lock your inventory again until you need it next time.

People who doesn't want to trade could just keep the inventory locked and scammers couldn't get their items at all.

No, you need to log on your steam account, start rocket league and trade your items.

Scammers use fake steam websites and lure people with free items or keys to log on those fake websites. They think it is just the normal steam login but it is a fake website from scammers. Steam guard doesn't protect people if they give their account infos and even their steam guard mobil code to scammers by loging in on those websites.

And then it goes pretty fast, scammer (bot) logs on their account within a few seconds and trade their items to one of the scammer accounts. Yes steam guard mobil code only works for limited time but those scammers log on within seconds.
