Tbh I’ve got no clue about it, was just wondering hah, 4K and potato pc.

Why doesn’t it look good without supersampling ? What’s the difference between with and without ?

with ss its just so much more clear. idk if u know what i mean but u know when ur in thr dark irl u get weird flashy dots in ur eyes thats what it looks like without s

Those weird flashy dots are the film grain effect they added for Halloween. They will remove it when they remove the Halloween theme. The film grain doesn't scale with resolution and becomes almost too small to see at 4K.

By supersampling, you are running the game at 4K resolution and downscaling back to 1080p. This is a great form of anti-aliasing, it will smooth out jagged edges and incidentally hide the film grain but 4K is about 4 times more work than 1080p. You'll need a 2070 or above to play at 4K 144hz.

Heh was wondering the same when he mentioned dots and darkness.

So OP, is this only in the main menu ?

WTF i literally have a 1650 and turned down a few settings (game still looks awesome) and i get 80-100 fps
Rocket League doesn't use super-sampling and all the anti-aliasing methods it has are incredibly crappy. It's not worth it. You might as well play without it.

To get something that's actually like super-sampling you'll need to downscale from a higher resolution, which is done using Nvidia DSR or simply setting a custom resolution for your monitor. But that's obviously not recommended for you.

Try to stay at 1080p and set everything to low but don't disable transparent goal posts. Disable anti-aliasing as well. Then if you like the performance you can try to increase each setting and see if you like it. But unless you want to downsample I don't recommend any of the anti-aliasing modes for this game, they all suck.

Yeah, you'll need a 2070 or above to play on the game on high at 144 fps on 4K.

You claimed that you're playing on a potato so I don't quite see how 4K is recommended to you.
