If another game does happen to come out, it will be the same. People always say what you did: if this comes out, it will BLOW this game out of the water, when majority of the time, that is false.
Inconsistent does not determine rank. People at plat and diamond are way more "consistent" then d2-c2. The only difference is that the higher level on play at this rank makes me people become more inconsistent trying to keep up. Problem is they should still be in diamond then or plat. Too many people practice mechanics and pushes them to a rank they dont understand yet. The biggest problem with RL is that all these little kids wanna do mechanics like pros so they practice that which allows them to maintain d2-c2 while being bad at everything else that can make it unplayable for other people that obtained most of their skill from playing. Being human and inconsistent does not justify whiffing 90% of the time or simply being dumb.
It's nice to see 3 more ranks introduced, because now the best of the best will go higher up while the less better will remain at GC level. It'll balance things up a bit.
However i don't like the way that you get division down even if you get 1000 points in a game. You keep scoring, saving, basically playing by yourself only because your teammate has disorientation disease and you get lower ranks because of those little ♥♥♥♥♥. Why can't the player having high score in a game just not recieve division down if the other player's score is way down so there's like a 300+ point gap? I agree that those players that play RL to 'relax' can ♥♥♥♥ off to casual and not to competitive.
I also think that the ranking system is kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥.
Smurfing - I'm hoping that RL does something like CS:GO did with high rank gap, not allowing them to play because of high rank gap. Since RL is free now, some of my friends started playing it, and another of my friends boosted them straight to gold. I had to grind gold rank by myself for like 80-120hrs or smth i don't remember. And they get carried there. And now those 2 make other player's life in gold suffering because they can't even compare to bronze 2 players.
Also, when another player leaves the game, it's really a stupid thing to do to reduce the remaining player's divisions/ranks because they can't possibly win 2v3/1v2 because of the player that left, they could make it so only the winning team gets upped in division, but the 'losing' team stays the same.
Unfortunately since RL has like 1.3mil+ players RN, the consequences aren't gonna appear soon, but in 3+ months they will. More and more players will acquire the ranks they aren't ready for yet because of boosting and ♥♥♥♥ , and then we will have a serious competitive ranking problem.
Also, tournaments are a ♥♥♥♥♥ because i recently got one player on my team that just wasted time, pretended to be afk, and then writing 'gg' at the end. We almost won 2v3 but it's hard. I really hope they come up with smth like 'reserve' players that come late to tournaments and when a player gets kicked for inactivity / gets voted off in first match, they get instantly replaced by the 'reserve' player.
I know how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating it is to lose ranks, but hey, if you look a bit on the bright side, there's a little bit of frustrating motivation to motivate you get better and get better ranks on your own. I'm doing it since forever but yeah some teamm8s just deserve to die in a fire.
Well one reply is me but lol I completely agree man. Many valid points too. The problem is no one cares about what less than 5% of the player base thinks even though we are the ones that drive the top game play. The truth is majority of the player base is below diamond in which ranking up and getting better increases steadily. Its the stagnant d2-c2 ranks that should work different so the actually good serious comp players dont get screwed over because of others stagnating, not wanting to take it serious, or just not having the fundamentals before mechanics.
And to your last paragraph, this is what separates GCs from champs. People like me stuck in champ because I dont have the patience/mentality to carry every game. I literally see my teammate not rotate or not go for something/hesitate or even whiff completely on a free goal I immediatly think in my head that I cant trust him and I have way less motivation to carry.
So youre telling me you can 2v1 against two people at champ 1? because thats the rank I get stuck on the most. If you can 2v1 and actually push your way out of it then you are a pro. Even pros tried on youtube and they can barely 2v1 champs. Honestly though some teammates make it literally 3v1 because you cannot trust them.
wait wait!!! are you telling that high ranks are non consistent?? xD what kind of competitive games you played before? (if you played any....)
Exactly you will defeat two champs but with lot of champ experiences
after the match, yes.
Maybe in 1v1. In 2v2/3v3 things are different. I'm c1 at 2v2 because i'm depending on teamwork, but barely plat 2 in 1v1 because the play style is vastly different, and you have to teach yourself to dribble, basically a complete revamp of what you had done in other playlists.
If you put a c1 in a p2 match in 3v3, things won't work out well, because that c1 is depending on his teammates, and if they don't pass/take shots it's eventually gonna cause the team that has c1 in their team to be worse than a clean p2 team. This is because those p2 can't keep up, and c1 is dragging the game fast-paced, and the other p2 team will work fine because everyone has similar skills.
In 1v1, c1 will obliterate the platinum because, of course, you have to do everything by yourself.
This won't work in diamond/champ at all, because there teamwork is everything. In gold for example, let's say 2v2, you have people who know how to do aerials more than they do positioning, and another one who can shoot well. Those 2 don't go together well because they both want to get the ball for themselves and noone's passing. If you're a good, solid gold player that has a little bit of everything, you can win 2v1 if the opposite team is like i described because you get the ball for yourself, and the other team is disoriented.
However in Dia/Champ ranks, that's not the case. These ranks know everything, except they make mistakes. They know positioning, they know aerials, they know rotation, everything. Except they make stupid mistakes, myself included. Sometimes i read the situation wrongly, and get in defence when my teammate has done a great job doing a pass, and we don't score a goal because i read the situation wrong (thought he was gonna miss but he didn't). It's mostly rotation that's at fault, but you sometimes have people who don't warm up, so they're really bad. Other times you have people who are pissed off from the previous game and if you make a tiniest of mistakes they will 'What a save!' spam and leave.
I am pissed because in such situations, when your teammate leaves, or you have 500 points more than your teamm8 because he's braindead, you STILL get punished a division down even if you did your best and have more score than the enemy team combined. Now THAT needs to be changed.
