Rocket League lag with low ping and good specs?

just got rocket league, i get 20 ping and have a ryzen 1600 and gtx 1060 6gb... why am i lagging still?

Yet the lag is still happening. Obviously the problem has nothing to do with your fancy hardware and faster-than-light ethernet. (why do people keep getting stuck on "my hardware is grate and my internets are grate"???)

Packets are not reaching your computer on time (or not reaching your computer at all). Could be a router elsewhere on the Internet is glitching. Could be your ISP dropping the ball. Could be some of your fancy hardware has a faulty chip in it and is suffering intermittent failures.

That's most likely the cause.

Because
1. Just 50% of steam users have windows 10
2. Of those some won't have the creators update with "Game mode"
3. Most have game mode disabled because its ♥♥♥♥ and gives you lag. just like xbox dvr

Edit: misread your answer (read other gamers).
But still its most likely because of game mode

They could be; you might simply not be noticing.

When you're playing CS:GO and hiding in a shack because some troll is running around the map firing rockets at everybody, you can't see anybody else and you therefore don't see them lagging. In Rocket League, there is nowhere to hide; the other cars and the ball are always visible, always moving, and almost always following curved paths. Any tiniest hiccup will be instantly visible.

If anyone is experiencing this problem still restart your router. It fixed it for me.

I have the same problem. I have a decent gaming pc which always runs rocketleague with >100fps and a 125MB/s (1000mbps) internet connection (up and down). However after the anniversary update things went crazy.

My ping increased, nearing 50ms, coming from roughly 16ms and sometimes different lag symbols show up. Things even teleport now, one moment I'm fine, than someone bumps me and I get thrown across the map and than I suddenly teleport somewhere else (not rumble powerup), the ball is also very laggy at times in terms of location.

At first I thought the issue was on the servers and I just quite playing after playing 1-2 rounds because I got to frustrated. However the issue is still there as of right now and none of my friends are experiencing the same problems.

its their servers. not your internet. not your computer.
even if you're experiencing it and not your friends, its still their servers.
it happens randomly to one person for an entire match.
the servers sometimes get packet loss where it seems to just randomly forget a player.
its why the report a server button was added to the menu
