So i got banned for saying the N word..? Can i get a dev here?
The N word being "♥♥♥♥♥" (starts with a N ends with an A)
I've grown up in multi cultural diverse enviroments my whole life.
I speak multiple languages and dialects.
To most people I'm practically raceless.
White people think i'm white , Blacks think I'm Hispanic and Hispanics don't know what the hell to make of me...

I switch between plain proper English, Spanish, Italian, Patua and slang on the fly constantly.

The other day I was playing a standard game against a team of black players that were an unofficial team. They start kicking our asses (my team was 2 rookies and I). When i see them pulling team combo moves i realized it and chat typed "yo these ♥♥♥♥♥s are a straight up team!"
NO ONE got mad...in fact they laughed and typed smileys. The game ended and we all GG.

I think i said it 1 or 2 more times to other players in other matches to (clearly white playes at that) in funny situations used as simple slang...NO ONE got angry and all games ended in GG from all.

So now I've been banned...

This new RL auto ban system is borderline unconstitutional...
IF YOU ARE GOING TO BAN RACIAL SLURS JACKASSES MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT A RACIAL SLUR IS.
There is a difference between SLANG and racial slurs and profanity.
It's like friggin China up in here...

I'm assuming you used the word for "Black"?
I edited my post, check the description.
If you are foreign you may not understand the difference between the one that ends with R and the one that ends with A.

Big differeeence as one is a racial slur and the other is friendly SLANG.
at least to normal non racist intelligent americans...
RL Devs clearly don't fall under that category...

You have to be reported to get banned, so clearly not everyone though it was funny.

You still have to be reported, the autoban only gets you after it.

Really?
well then maybe I'm making a big stink over nothing...lol
Cause that probably wasn't the grounds for the ban...
maybe it was cause I called some one a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...lol
(starts with an S uses 2 T's and ends with an R)

Boy is my face red...:steammocking:

This. Report first, then the auto check of the list of naughty words.

In this case, the actual word and slang have the same meaning and are both slurs.

Not quite. one is used as a derogatory word to insult someone.
The other is used to imply comradery.

If you understand American slang and speak it properly. It's simply like saying "DUDE" or "BRO"

The banning system doesn't care what constitutes as a racial slur/term or not, it cares if it violates Psyonix's Banning Policy:
Escrito originalmente por Volodesi:
OUR BANNING POLICY
"Encouraging a healthy environment in Rocket League comes with enforcing our aforementioned player bans. If you’re reporting another player in-game, you can select from among these categories:

  • Verbal Text Harassment (which includes offensive language, flooding, etc.)
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct (which includes intentional disruption of the game, AFK’ers. etc.)
  • Cheating (which includes smurfing, opponent collusion, etc.)

Psyonix has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to harassment of any kind, and we will ban reported offenders at our discretion. The length of player bans for any valid reason is also at our discretion and could include permanent bans if appropriate. Furthermore, the more often you are banned, the longer each subsequent ban will be, including an eventual permanent ban.
"

If you would like to know how the system works in detail, feel free to read up on one of my previous posts:

There was an initial list of words that were on a blacklist, meaning they were deemed unusable in every context by the developers (racial slurs and other discriminative terms) including some in different languagues as well. For each word, there is a certain threshold that needs to be met before the system auto bans you. For some words, you just need to say them over and over various times (spamming/flooding the server chat) before you can get a ban, but the worst words on the list (the ones deemed unusable) only require you to say them once before the system auto bans you. So there are levels that the system recognizes and if you say something on the highest level of the list then it'll auto ban you if a report is filed on you in that game (Keep in mind that a report must be filed against you in order to get banned in the first place).

Here's a quote taken from Dirkened's New Ban Practices[www.psyonix.com]announcement on the official Psyonix Forums:[www.psyonix.com]

This week, we’re building on our Player Report system by adding a new layer of automation to the report-ban process. This automation, simply called the 'Language Ban' system, will automatically ban players from online matches when certain words -- racial slurs, for example -- are seen in reports filed by our players.

While we have an initial list of over 20 words and variants, this list (which we will not be making public) will continue to evolve over time, and include words and phrases from multiple languages. Each word has its own threshold, and once a threshold for any word has been reached, that player will be automatically subject to a ban. These bans will typically start at 24 hours, then escalate to 72 hours, one week, and finally, a permanent ban.

So basically if you get reported, the system will check if you've said a word that's on the top-level blacklist, and if you said it, it'll auto-ban you.

If you didn't say a word on the top-level blacklist then your case will be reviewed manually by a Psyonix Staff member, meaning the only way the system automatically bans players is if you've said a really, really bad word, otherwise it'll be put in a 'pending review' status waiting for a staff member to go over it.

You agreed to the ToS, it is your responsibility to ensure you are abiding to them.
Otherwise you are subject to ban.

Wow SMURFING? seriously?
AFK's I understand, but i thought they got kicked out of game for being inactive.
Psyonix is really trying hard to kill this game huh?

And the original ToS that i agreed to didn't have all that tacked on crap...
I'ts like buying a car and agreeing to a set of rules, then a year later you add...
Oh and you can't drive it on weekends and with no shirt on...

According the words on the ban list, and the fact that you're banned for using a clearly derogatroy word.

But keep going and proving why you were banned though lol

Some one other than me already disproved your crummy lil theory there "mate" I mean troll.
I clearly wasn't banned for that which i thought.

So you smugly thinking you are correct is a singular thing...only you...clever boy...

Maybe so but turning over the Ban system to automation wasn't part of the original ToS.
