Starting an air dribble from ground
So the ball just bounced off the ground. The pros jump under the ball and boost to air dribble the ball. However, when I try, the ball either goes too far forward and I am boosting to catch it, or my car turns left or right meaning I have to correct.

For point A, do I just have too much speed?
For point B, am I not hitting the ball centrally enough?

the MOMENT the ball hits the ground get under the ball boost, aim your car up a bit, a little bit after boosting (almost instantly) do a double jump and then u should be carrying the ball then, just chase after the ball and MAKE SURE its at the tip of your car and above your car u want to chase it but u don't want to chase it while the ball is slightly under your car other wise the ball will keep going down with your car but if u carry the ball above your car u will slightly go up and keep the ball in the air, make sure that the ball is in the center of your car unless u want to aim the ball but when first attempting air dribbles dont worry too much about aiming YET.

Thanks for the info. I don't even double jump yet (yes 2000+ hours and dia3), still working on the basics haha.

I'll give a little tip here. If you want a nice arc on your dribble, you need to make contact with the ball on the rise up. Once the ball is on the way down all you can do is pretty much push it forward and out of your reach. Your speed, the ball speed, a flat hit is all important too. Timing is everything.

This is correct you need to hit the ball on the way up and double jump BUT you have to hit the ball only with the first jump..the second jump will close the distance to the ball..thats why you was hitting it too far..

Get a custom training pack, you'll find them by searching youtube for air dribble tutorials.

Doing the off the wall air dribbles is great practice, it'll force you to get in tune with the air roll aspect of controlling the ball in the air, which is huge in air dribbling in general. You need to be good at air rolling from all kinds of awkward camera positions.

You need to be able to get your car to move exactly how you want it to, exactly when you want it to because keeping the ball up takes a lot of finesse. I seen a skill chart depicted by a popular youtuber and it showed air dribbling at the top of the skill tree.
