Yes.

it is pretty steep, but before you could spend 100$ and not even get the item you wanted, atleast now its guaranteed.

Well trading for some items was even more than 20$. *Looks at Dueling Dragons and it's 45 key trade cost*

you are playing a game, not investing/trading stocks in a stock market...

Your point being what? You said you could have spent 100$ (via keys) and did not even get waht you wanted (compared to 20$ mentioned in OP) and I said well some items were just more anyway (past the initial 20$ in the OP) but would be less than the 100$ you said so what are you on about mate?

Why the heck would you have tried to spend 100$ on keys when you could just trade for it for less? Now instead of the community setting the price on items Psyonix is. Should make trading interesting - will people now undercut the value at the start? Overvalue it because it is available and don't have to wait for it to be on the store? Use their own blueprints to make an item then upcharge it?

I just find all that interesting. Still dunno where you were going with the stock market thing though friend.

You play games to enjoy them, in this case, skins for your cars are something that you enjoy right? The reason the community gave them the prices were based on their rarity, more desirable items = higher prices, the same goes for stock market, the more desirable stocks are for a big company that brings in big bucks, therefor they will be more expensive. Ingame item trading is basically the same as stock market.

That being said, these new prices are based on the items rarity, sure an import wheel that used to cost 1 dollar now is 14, but an import wheel that used to cost 100 now is also 14, you might not agree with it but atleast its a fair price (still pretty expensive).

And the biggest problem here, is that the community invested a lot in trading before they added this update, psyonix should and will be the one dictating the prices, because like I said, this is not meant to be like stock market.

There should have never been a price developed for each item, because now some people are gonna complain. Loot boxes are gone, you can now buy items as overpriced as they are, but atleast its not based on luck.

you play games to enjoy them but some people enjoy opening cases and gambling and this game has no market so community built one based on keys, I can understand the problem and tbh I dont like that patch because to me, they just removed the fun that you have when you see a gold or purple shine when opening. They added a fix price that is very expensive compared to the price it cost in keys, im not gonna pay like 6euro to get purple yamane its trash.

The item shop prices are hilarious. 1400 credits/14 keys for an unpainted wheel that was less than a key yesterday.

damn dude are you serious? because if you mean what you said you might have a little gambling problem. "they just removed the fun that you have when you see a gold or purple shine when opening" that was never meant to be fun, that was a psychological strategy used to trigger your brains bonus system and to get you hooked. but hey if that is "fun" for you

that fun you have when opening loot boxes, is called gambling and is restricted to people above the age of 18, this game is meant for everyone it literally has an E rating, so no, noone should be sad for lootboxes being removed from the game.
