Any good solutions for or alternatives to Rocket League?

This game has become a very love hate relationship. Iv put in a good amount of time and enjoy playing with friends. Ever since the Epic purchase those friends who play are dwindling. Now we have updates that are breaking the game, we have updates that are killing off OS's from playing the game.

I feel its either time to step away and find an alternative or find a solution for Rocket League. By this I mean the company is obviously just money hungry and will latch onto anyone who throws money at them. So maybe there is a way to make the game go back to the public? Maybe a crowdfunding to buy it back and keep it a community game instead of a Chinese owned mess.

I do not know the logistics but this whole situation but it has become painful to watch. This is the type of game that I would hate to walk away from but im inching closer everyday.

I know I do not have any solid alternatives but they are ideas that can be built off of. Perhaps one of you has a better idea they would like to suggest. I know just from being in discords people are frustrated more than thinking about the game which sucks. I miss being able to focus on the game instead of the frustrations that are common now.

That's not how this works. This game is intellectual property of Psyonix/Epic, you can't just buy it.
You also can't bring it "back" to the public, as it never was in public hands.

The code and visuals are their intellectual property. The game actually is not (because that isn't a thing). You don't need enough money to buy the game, just enough to clone it, do your own art and car looks, and run servers.

Imagine if all the Mac and Linux players spent the time they used to have for Rocket League building a better game to replace it. That'd be a pretty cool world.

This discussion is so cringe and lost all relevance as soon as you mentioned slaves and called people who were replying "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥." You're obviously a pessimist. Who cant see that Epic "buying" the game will more than likely end up benefiting from their decisions. Blueprints/Rocketpass is putting more money into the developers pockets to give us better/more content. Not sure if you've noticed but the game has been exactly the same for years now and could use some additions to keep the game fresh and fun which is exactly what Epic has been good at if you take a look at fortnite and all the events that theyve done to keep players attention.
Go ahead and call them money hungry but that's kind of what you have to be when you own a gigantic business if you want to keep it running and stable

A human of logic, see this is what we need more of. Games are cloned constantly and sometimes the clones are better than the original, well a good amount of the time now days. Look at the Battle Royale series of games. PUBG is pretty much dead compared to how it was, oh wait was this after China bought it and things were changed to appease them and then the horde of chinese hackers came in and destroyed it? Oh yea that did happen and apparently that problem still is not fixed.

Sure there is this game where you get a few people, you go to a field and kick a ball around the place.

You can use metal goal posts or in a pinch, you use jumpers for goal posts.
